I feel bad I haven't been on here in so long. September 2024 I lost my job as a software engineer - well, I was a lead and I live somewhere where there aren't a lot of tech jobs leaving me looking mostly for remote ones. It's been a long slog to be honest.

Stop paying as much attention to the toxic people in your life and spend time with the good ones.

Someone you know may need it more than you think.

Not everyone feels strong. Not everyone feels they can use their voices, but no one can stop you from simply being kind, putting the kind of energy into the world that is needed more than every right now. Don't hesitate to not only be nice in these times, go out of your way to do so.

In a too often cruel world, we can each add kindness to it, to the people in our lives, the people we love, to strangers who need a lift.

People can try to diminish others, but they cannot stop anyone from simply adding kindness to the world. They cannot stop our voices.

Using our voices isn't always easy, but these times call on all of us to push forward towards whatever can be made better. Whether it's telling your fellow human beings they are valid, they belong here on this earth or having the grace to see the worth in your own voice.

It's up to us to exemplify the type of world we want to live in, how we treat others, how we show the type of treatment we want for all people in this world.

As we look to others for leadership, we must look to ourselves to carry the torch of decency and morality and use it as a light for others.

You know - in these times it occurs to me that one thing that cannot be taken away from any of us is our integrity. I think in these times, it's important to be aware of our own thinking, our own values and not only do we live these values, we model them for others.
