I've never heard that definition. I consider myself an advocate for the liberty of all beings. Every choice I make, I try to remember that. With your definition, I may be a vegan. In an ideal world, I would use only animal waste products or products where the animal roamed free and died naturally.

A post that says... I support women who get abortions because they want to. No tragic backstory required. No justification. No performance of trauma to make it palatable. If she does not want to be pregnant, that is enough. We have spent decades forcing women to rank their reasons in order of acceptability; assault, health risks, poverty, timing as if bodily autonomy needs to earn sympathy to be valid. It doesn’t. You do not need to be on the brink of ruin to decide you don’t want your body used for pregnancy. You do not need to prove suffering. Wanting to remain not pregnant is sufficient. I am not interested in debating when life begins or trading morality points. The core issue is consent. No one should be compelled to use their body to sustain another life against their will. I’m not playing that morality game anymore. Autonomy is the point.

While I'm too low income to be vegan (I eat what I'm given), this same argument should also be applied to animal farming.

There may be ways to do it ethically, but under capitalism, we don't even try. We use living beings and care nothing about their happiness or suffering.
