Trade comp, via @JordanRaanan: the Bengals will receive DT Dexter Lawrence in exchange for Thursday night’s 10th overall pick, straight up. Lawrence still needs to pass his physical and finalize a contract with Cincinnati.

I wanted more. Like a lot more. It was just blah.

Had a work trip this week, so I didn't get to watch as many. Have you seen any of these before? Fifth Element is officially in my top 4 now that I've rewatched and rated it. @letterboxd.social

Tweet from Shawn VanDiver: I owe an apology to every person I introduced to Eric Swalwell over the years.

The rumors about him weren’t new. They had been circulating for a long time, and many people were aware of them.

When he asked for my support in the California gubernatorial race, I raised those concerns directly. He unequivocally denied them, dismissing it as Washington rumor mill nonsense and claiming there was no truth behind it. He framed it as behavior from when he was single, without recognizing or acknowledging the underlying power dynamics at play.

I took him at his word. That was a mistake and a failure.

Part II of the Tweet: I should have listened more carefully to the people who warned me. I regret not taking those concerns more seriously, and I regret the role I played in lending him credibility.

We all need to do better about who we trust, who we elevate, and when we choose to look the other way.

Here are all of the movies I've watched this week. Which is your favorite?

Zebrahead "Waste of Mind" is a true banger.

I listened to it again this week and felt like I was back in high school all over again.

Yeah I read through that page before, was just curious if you had more info. I'll keep looking into them, thanks for the heads up!

I agree. More variety would lead to more people voting and fewer people disengaging entirely.

I completely agree there. I would love to see 5+ viable parties to allow for more nuance and less "lesser of two evils" voting.

I like what I see from a first glance. Do you know where they stand on PAC money and LGBTQ rights?

I'll look into them more.

There are a lot of parties with good ideas, what we need is parties with momentum, energy, and a great ground game.

I think we need two new parties. The GOP has been taken over by MAGA and is dying, and the Democrat Party has been taken over by do-nothing liberals.

I don't have a solution, but I think we all see the problems.

Who else do you dismiss based on the method of communication? AM Radio, I assume?

Fair enough, and I've followed Ken for years, so I get and enjoy his vibe. I first got to know him and his opinion via podcast which is why I was confused why he was shitting on all streamers for being streamers instead of critiquing the ideas being streamed.

Idea for a social media account:

Watch movies with the occasional foreign language and subtitles, and explain what they're saying to see if it matches.

(ie. Wayne's World where they talk in Cantonese on the roof)

I'm asking the person who is dismissing Piker to see if they would dismiss Rogan in the same manner. I'm critiquing the opinion that podcasters can't be listened to, not which podcaster should be listened to more than another.

Rogan is trash IMO.

You just seem very anti Piker, which is fine. But just because one format is written and the other isn't doesn't make one better than the other automatically.

Podcasts Liberal Currents is home to the Neon Liberalism podcast hosted by Samantha Hancox-Li. Neon Liberalism can be heard on Spotify, on Apple, on YouTube, on Amazon, and elsewhere via its RSS feed. Liberal Currents is also home to Half the Answer, a podcast hosted by Caitlin M. Green and Trent

They have podcasts, so by your own logic, I shouldn't listen to them.
