Knock. Knock. "Georgie?" I knocked again. She'd been in the bathroom for a while, and I was really confused. We had planned to head out 5 minutes ago, but she hadn't moved from the bathroom. We'd been taken advantage of, Mum and Dad finally letting the two of us out of the house alone. Since I'm 13 and she's 12, we could go out as long as we were together or with one of our siblings. Knock. Knock. "Georgie, are you in there?" I called out once again. "Mhmmm, Alex?" she called, and I perked up instantly, though she sounded not well. "Yeah, Georgie? Hurry, we gottaaa goooo. I wanna make it in time for the trailers!" "Um, Alex... listen, um, can you um get Mum for me please." She pleaded with me. It was starting to worry me. Why did she need Mum? We needed to go, but if she needs Mum, I'll get her. "Okay, I'll get her", I say as I head down the corridor. I really hope whatever is happening can get fixed. There's no way she could fall into the toilet? She is a little small... maybe that's it. It would make sense that she wouldn't want to show me. I wouldn't laugh at her, though! She's my best friend, I wouldn't do that. Wandering into the living room, thankfully Mum is just on the couch watching this house show thing. "Mum?" "Yes, Bud? ing. I can't believe the Stereo had to be on the fritz today. Ring. Ring. The fuzzy hum wasn't enough to block out the noise from my Nokia. Ring. Ring. Ring. I really didn't need to know it was ringing. It had been going on for so long. This wasn't even the first call. I couldn't- wouldn't answer it, but it stung so much. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. I just had to keep driving and pray that the tears wouldn't hinder me. Though here comes the hard part. "This is Alex Turner. I am unable to take your call at the moment. Please either send a text or leave a voice message. Beeeeeep." The phone stopped making sound, and I thought I wouldn't have to bear through it, but- "Alex? This is serious. Pick up the phone and call me back. I just got back, Georgie is freaking out, and I saw the state of your room. Please just pick up and reassure me that what I'm thinking is happening isn't happening." Mum stops talking, and I'm barely holding it together. It's not her first call. Mum called soon after I started driving cause Georgie saw me. She thought, in that call, that Georgie was just overexaggerating, but now she was freaking out. "Alex... listen, I love you... Whatever is happening, call us back, please." The line went dead. It hurt so much. Each call was another sibling worrying and saying they loved me and cared about me, but that's why I needed to leave. I needed to get away, cause in truth they wouldn't love me. They wouldn't like that I actually hated my name. I hated being the youngest brother. That the personality I built was all a facade to fake it through school.

With MIMNL finished, I've been working on a new story. Currently with Chapter 1 done, and part 2 being written. It isn't ready to upload but here is a little teaser of the first section.

I had gotten all the news ones for High school, and honestly, that was an even greater relief than the uniform. Finally getting a new Biology textbook helped me move past that. That day, that book, that prison sentence. It had all brought a crushing feeling of hopelessness. Now there was hope. I still had that prison sentence weighing on my head, but hopefully, soon I could get on HRT. "Summer! Hurry!" Mum yelled again. "Sorry Mum, I'm packing my bag!" I called back.

Feeling much better and finished up a rewrite of part 22. I did have a slight draft pre getting sick but it was so hard to get back into it, so I just rewrote the whole thing. I do warn, that it might be slightly shorter then usual, so apologies for the wait then a short chapter.

Something that I have been contemplating for YappyTales is setting up a Patreon once MimNL is done. On release I’ll have the first chapter of the sequel there, and it will be the place for new stuff to go before going to Scribblehub. Releases would still come to Scribblehub but on a slight delay.

It’s something that I’ve been thinking about. There is always the imposter syndrome of am I worthy yet, but yesh I feel like next year it could really help out and now that I’ve got into a good swing of things I trust myself to keep going.
