i truly truly truly believe it should be minimum standards of housing in australia that it includes air conditioning... very aware it's not great for the environment, but when it's hovering around 30ºC at night, and all you have is a pedestal fan... it's not fun 🥲

only just reading through and reacting to the different songs, but Zjerm is far and away a better song than Karnaval? (but i also lean towards alternative music generally)
Merry FiKmas, everyone 😅🥰
i could also write separately about how I tried to FOI SBS about Australia’s participation in Eurovision and got barely anything because they applied a very broad exemption of the Cth FOI Act on docs 🥲
As someone that works in information law, I’m biting my tongue to write a whole paper bringing together my two loves: Eurovision and freedom of information laws 😅 would anyone actually want to read a deep explanation of this case?
Anyway, that’s my ultimate dream for who I want representing us at Eurovision 😅

I reckon she has what it takes to represent Australia at Eurovision. She writes banger alternative-pop, has incredible stage presence. Her stories bring you in and enchant you for the whole 3 minutes 🥰
With a strong concept that translates to the stage and performance, I think she’d do very well!
And recently, she’s written the score for the upcoming Aussie movie, “How to Make Gravy”, based on the iconic Paul Kelly song. Keen to see how her genius feeds into the movie.
Begin Again - no shame, I tear up when I hear this song 😭 m.youtube.com/watch?v=U5sU...
Since then, she’s released hits like “My Heart is a Wheel” and “Begin Again” from an emotionally charged album “There There” www.youtube.com/watch?v=42DD...
She burst onto the scene in 2010 with an album that probably defined my early years of high school subliminally, “I Believe You Liar”, which included one of my all-time favourite songs, “Sunday Best” - so chic!!! m.youtube.com/watch?v=HVd-...
She is a multi-ARIA Award winner, most recently in 2020 for Best Cover Art for her (honestly incredible) album Batflowers.
✨ manifesting an Aussie representative for Eurovision 2025 ✨
Meg Washington!!! You probably also know her as Calypso, the all-wise teacher in Bluey 🥰
If charli xcx was Canberran, she’d be referring to the OG Julia when she says “I’m so Julia”

I genuinely cannot think of another bill where the timeframe for filing submissions to a committee inquiry was less than 24 hours... 🧐
It is true that the sub judice contempt rule needs to be reformed as it is out of step with modern digital reality, however in the meantime the best way to ensure Alan Jones gets a trial at all (let alone a fair one) is to shut up about the criminal charges against him.
Asked ChatGPT to recommend an Australian political party to vote for in the upcoming federal elections… proceeds to recommend all parties as viable options 🫠
so centrist I broke ChatGPT, apparently 😂
Hello from Australia! So good to see you here 😄
Until these issues are seriously addressed by the ACT Government, as much as it will mean I'm house-bound for the day/s, I fully support bus drivers saying enough is enough and striking for better, *safer* working conditions.

Regardless of how you feel about policing, when police aren't able to stop the most fundamental sorts of crimes - crimes against other people, like assault - you know you have a serious problem.
Oh, and that P&C person should also come along for a school bus run like regular commuters... 👀
We also need an ACT Government that takes community safety seriously. This also feeds into a broader issue: the ACT has the lowest proportion of police per capita in Australia, and you feel it with the lack of police presence generally.
It truly feels like I'm back in high school and trying to curl into a shell to avoid being targeted. And that's with being a guy - I can only imagine how much more uncomfortable women would feel on public transport like that.
We need a physical presence of police or teachers on school bus runs.

i have *many* thoughts about this: as someone that relies on the Canberra public transport to just get around and live (still on my Ls, no car, etc), I have had a number of instances of feeling incredibly unsafe with kids running amuck on the bus during term.
random fun thing to do on a thursday night: peruse active class actions and register for them... didn't know there was a class action against JB Hi-Fi for their extended warranties, so had a look and realised i was eligible for it 😅
regardless, the flight needs to be on time!!!!!

On the flip side, I do post quite a bit about politics, so if you’re interested in hot takes from an Aussie centrist liberal, you’ve come to the right place 😅🥰
As a FYI, for people who are following me for Eurovision ✨content✨, my hot takes will probably relate to specific national finals that I froth over (eg Belgium, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Norway) and then during Eurovision week.
Running the Aussie Eurovision fan club is fun, but tiring
