I think I'm just too old for this trend of neverending products that ram 200 unrelated IPs together. I miss self contained universes.

As someone who absolutely loved the dkc games and was facing a dearth of action sidescrollers during the n64 era, this one was such a bummer to me.

Is this an issue with the original genesis controller or 6 button? I know for the 6 button you needed to hold mode for a few games like ms pacman (on genesis)

I think maybe part of the increased negativity, is that unlike the mounds of bad kids movies that can be ignored, Mario has been around so long that there's an older audience craving a bit more substance who are also burnt out on the memberberries approach. Sonic seems to have done better on that.

It's funny though, because even as the dev of my games I still refer to a lot of stuff generically.

I'm curious, when he jumped leftward from the red platform back onto the blue L plat, once he landed on the blue plat if you pressed right would he continue back around the blue plat like he did the first time? Is it all camera driven or can user input define the path taken at all?

These are awesome. I remember thinking a game with the big sprites from the sonic pocket adventure menus would've been cool (not including the miscolored legs)

Sonic team went all the way to South America to source textures for Sonic Adventure. I even remember magazines calling out how good SA2's jungle textures were. I think a lot of this is true for the previous generation as well, the resolution and color depth just made them more unrealistic.

I have watched clips of the show you speak of, and while overall very little adult swim content has appealed to me, somehow I find something amusing about it (not high). It's a very strange brand of cringe.

I like how the suggestion is that not upgrading enough is costing us in productivity. So they're admitting our productivity has been skyrocketing for the last 30 years but we're not getting paid enough to buy the things we need to exponentially increase our productivity for the next 30.
