It's a good example of how they're just paid opposition at this point.

Ok. Then explain it to me like I'm a child. What do you think Biden was supposed to do vis-a-vis the Kennedy Center. π
The important thing is that you don't have to be like this. You can change whenever you want. Being this useless is a choice you've made.
So you've got nothing. Just running your mouth and mindlessly blaming Democrats. I don't get why people like you are so intent on being utterly useless and counterproductive in the face of the very real threat of Trumpist fascism.
You're seriously pushing a "why didn't Biden stop Trump from mismanaging the Kennedy Center?" angle and think it makes you look reasonable? Explain what you think Biden was supposed to do about it. π
You're really committed to this clueless asshole bit, huh?
What were they supposed to do about Trump taking over the Kennedy Center under Biden? What are you even talking about?
To say nothing of the fact that as it became apparent that Trump returning to power was feasible we had already lost the House, making it impossible to pass a bill about it.
Also Democrats are leading a lawsuit to undo the Kennedy Center renaming, which is something they can do now.
Because that's how politics works. They don't have the votes to do anything now.
Heartbreaking description of the pointless, thoughtless damage being done to the Kennedy Center. It was such an important part of life in Washington, and is now being destroyed for no reason

John Kerry ordered a $4 Yuengling instead of a $3 Coors Light & our political media spent months tarring him as an out of touch elitist
Somehow, the bodycam footage of Alabama police arresting a Black pastor watering his vacationing neighbor's flowers makes the story even more surreal than the headline suggests. They keep threatening to cuff a man who is *actively spraying planter boxes the entire time*.

Ok. *gestures at everything*
Nah. They're just opportunists and cowards.
βWe propose to settle all the difficulty of the Dred Scott Decision by putting it into the Constitution. If a man is not a citizen of the country in which he is born, in Godβs name of what country is he a citizen? If he may not live there, where has he a right to live?β
I went grey super early (started in HS) and still look younger than that asshole, and I'm a year older.
Iran took out a fucking E-3 Sentry AWACS parked on the ground. that's the literal definition of high-value asset. great job Pete, your war is going awesome.
In his piece for Foreign Policy published Feb. 24, Swanson wrote that Iran would not capitulate after a bombing campaign, but rather escalate and βtarget global oil flows and international shipping, sending energy prices up and creating a serious political liability for Trump.β And indeed, Iran has made scattershot attacks on energy targets and others across the region, as well as throttling passage through the Strait of Hormuz by threatening attacks on ships.
Loomer post noting that a government expert on Iran was part of the Iran negotiations.
This guy sounds smart. Laid out Iran's moves with incredible foresight. Too bad he no longer works as the National Security Councilβs director for Iran b/c some online nutjob does not like him and that is enough to get experts shitcanned from government these days.

I like how some of these folks are old enough to collect Social Security.
If you can do this with citizenship you can do it with any constitutional right. Voting, speech, etc., all become "when we say so".
Just the President of the United States again saying insanely, unapologetically, shamelessly racist shit, and the extremely powerful people around him nodding in agreement.
How far back in time would you have to go to find another U.S. president saying something this bigoted in public?
Steve Witkoff is so bad at his job that he doesn't realize that he is not, in fact, a member of the Cabinet and he does not, in fact, report to the president.
He's a special envoy and, in a nation that is not a monarchy, he reports to the Secretary of State
one thing that frustrates me quite a bit about modern opinion-writing is that hardly anyone tries to argue with a particular person or a specific argument. it's all gesturing towards people saying something. take this piece for example. setting aside the merits of the argument, who is the target?
A number of people here seem to be road-testing the question "Just how overtly antisemitic can I get away with being on Bluesky?" right now. When you see it--especially in the name of leftism--name, shame, and block.
It's wild that "Sharia Law" is obviously unconstitutional but Christian Dominionist horseshit isn't. π
The IRIS Dena, a prized destroyer in the Iranian Navy, had participated in an international naval exercise in India last month. The ship had been making its way back toward Iran from Visakhapatnam, a city in India where the joint exercise ended on Feb. 25. The United States was among the many participants in the drills.
so the US Navy fired on and sank a vessel returning home from a joint exercise that the US Navy also participated in ... is that skating kinda close to the line of perfidy? www.nytimes.com/2026/03/04/w...
When we talk about Baby Boomers not getting off the stage: In 1997, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2007, the US president was born in 1946.
In 2017, the US president was born in 1946.
And next year in 2027? The US president will have been born in 1946.
