"We have checked our inventory thoroughly, and we no longer have any shits left to give. We only had a small amount of shits left at the end of last year, and now we’ve found that the most recent news cycles have completely emptied us out."

I used to work as a nurse on a Peds floor, and this upsets me so much because I remember seasonal viral outbreaks, seeing so many babies and toddlers sick and unable to breathe, or having horrible diarrhea. I just can’t imagine the reasoning behind removing those vaccines from the schedule.
Bingo. Corporate welfare is the real welfare you should be talking about.
Today I am providing a free link to DO NO HARM—first in a series about how #medicine fails #women (by which I mean all who identify + acknowledge how the system fails those it *codes* as women despite how they identify). #cancer #breastcancer #recovery

Ashanty is my student, and this is her first-ever professional assignment! She’s a ridiculously smart thinker and writer — read her on AI in school instead of all the adults pontificating. 🤗
Okay y'all, the full Baileys clip is up and it is my duty to tell all of you that Chuck Schumer's imaginary friends ARE REAL AND CAN HURT YOU.
Please tell your (not imaginary) friends.

September - time to crank that shit
Speaking of the transformative nature of a bombastic horn section, this live version of The Kinks’ “Village Green Preservation Society” from 1973 is another example of elevating an already iconic song…
The AI dumbfucks think the final outcome/final product is the most important thing, when in truth doing the writing, reading the details, thinking about the issue, processing & synthesizing the information is actually the most important, most useful, most valuable & usually the most enjoyable part.
So this is my cue to go to bed because EYE thought water buffalo just chilled BY the water…
Ain’t nobody tell me they swim IN the water looking like a sleep paralysis demon.

"Perimenopause is triggered when your ovaries—or 'pelvis chickens'—quit dependably laying eggs each month. Maybe some months they lay eggs, but other months they just sit on the couch, drinking a nice Malbec, eating corn nuts, and watching Better Call Saul."
I LOVE mine!

unironically, this is the song of the summer. it's been in my head for three days straight.
Speaking hours later Tuesday at a news conference in Anchorage, Alaska, alongside the state's two Republican U.S. senators, Kennedy said work is underway on an alternative. He said a "universal vaccine" that mimics "natural immunity" is the administration's focus. "It could be effective — we believe it's going to be effective - against not only coronaviruses, but also flu," he said.
Come on AP. He slashed $500 million in funding for mRNA technology and then strung a bunch of words that sound good if you know literally nothing about vaccines, but this statement is actual science fiction and reporting it without saying this isn’t how immunity works at all is frankly dangerous.
it has been said over and over but it’s worth reiterating in the face of this horrifying decision: RFK is quite literally joining the war on cancer on the side of cancer

Ugh, I HATED this when I was in school and was relieved my kids didn’t have to go through it, but now I guess they do. This continues to be the worst timeline 🤦♀️
I used this video a few years ago to introduce my daughter to Kate Bush (and David Gilmour). So good!
MYTH: Senator @MarshaBlackburn @RepTimBurchett and the Republicans want you to think Trump’s Trillions Transfer only cut “waste, fraud, and abuse”
TENNESSEE’S NEW REALITY:
There’s money for ICE
There’s money for concentration camps
There’s money for tax cuts for the wealthy
Yet there’s no money for healthcare, housing, food assistance, social support, or public broadcasting.
There’s no money to help the sick, homeless & starving
Suffering is a political choice
My neurodivergent kid loves the one that came with our mystery box last week (he’s a big fan of your fidgets 👍)

Folks are angry that undocumented immigrants can access medical care in certain states.
Why? They’re working incredibly hard jobs, often for sub minimum wages.
They’re putting food on your table, stocking your shelves & keeping the economy going.
Why shouldn’t they get care?
Mel Brooks’ History of the World Part I in high school World History (I loved that teacher 🤓)
I feel like a vampire sometimes (seriously, though, I love veins I could hit with a dart!)
