Breaking: Elder millennial wakes up humming “You Were Meant for Me” by Jewel.
”Wow,” she exclaims, even though nobody asks. “I haven’t thought about this song in decades.”

The hardest part about creating a playlist of the best anime theme songs of all time is trying to figure out if I actually liked the song or if I’m just having a Pavlovian dopamine response to the anticipation of watching the show I like.
Anyway the FLCL song is a straight bop, no notes.
Open request for recommendations btw. I’ll keep my eyes peeled.
I just figured out that the reason Dry the Rain by Beta Band is so, like, primally pleasant to listen to is because the tempo feels like sex.
My cat just bolted out from an unexpected location and jump-scared me, so per genre rules, I guess our house is haunted now. #thanksWANDA
I entirely agree. And absolutely no headlines about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang either!
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, no Top Secret, no The Saint
I find it amazing and appropriate that headlines about Val Kilmer’s death can’t seem to agree on what his most iconic roles were. “Batman, no wait, Tombstone, no wait, Heat, oh also The Doors, no no Willow! Or maybe Top Gun!” and that really speaks to the man’s legacy.
Also they make, like, SO much money off us while we quietly sob into our satin-lined luxury frizz-treating pillowcases because we aren’t self-caring enough to stop feeling like we can’t survive.
My hot take is that they turned “treat yourself” into “self-care” to distract us from the idea that the reason we need so much self-care is because modern life is unsustainable but this new industry makes us believe it’s our fault for being tired and fed up instead of tearing everything down.
Bear claw. Maybe an eclair if I’m feeling it. (If you’re talking like *donut* donut, then lemon filled or cream filled.)
(Also, apropos of nothing, I really need people to stop trotting out Nabokov’s Lolita if they aren’t going to read it.)
The internet stresses me out because while I do have a no tolerance policy personally on issues like this, I also feel that there is more nuance in some cases than people want to admit. And as you said, getting clear on what we’re actually mad about.
In terms of her arrest, that’s between her and her country’s legal system. If she’s culpable, it’ll hopefully get sorted there. AU law is pretty strict in that regard. But I agree that we need to be able to discuss these things as a community when they come up.
Frantically looking at my last few posts and wanting to let everyone know I’m not always this sad I promise.
I'm still putting the story together. I'm sharing limited info and request for more info anyone seeing this message might have. I understand that DOGE showed up today at the Institute of Museum and Library Services and rapidly began sending employees home. This was presaged in an executive order...
Story time. Once, in my youth, I experimented with cruelty. I decided, for science, to try being an internet troll. I set up new usernames and joined new online spaces and tried being a dick to people. I thought maybe I’d feel some satisfaction. Instead it made me want to puke. Why is this a thing?
I know this sounds like virtue signaling and I promise it’s not. I feel like I’m missing something incredibly important, something that is keeping me from having even the slightest understanding of the world I live in. I am asking someone to explain it to me.
I do not understand cruelty. Like, logically. I can see other points of view, even if I disagree. I can empathize with other people’s pain. But my whole life, I have never been able to comprehend cruelty. Even casual cruelty. People being mean on the internet. I don’t get it.
Blocked and reported.
OH my GOD. OMG.
cynthia erivo, period. exclamation point. #oscars
This is one of the coolest dresses I’ve ever seen. I love her so goddamn much. Also: I love Christian Siriano. Goddess bless him for making ALL of his clients look and feel this gorgeous. More designers need to follow his lead on this.
Oh hell yes.
Look I am 1000% here for men branching out on the red carpet. I think this is a nice color on him and I am so relieved for a break in black tuxes. Chalamet takes risks and I appreciate that a lot.
Selena Gomez in a mermaid hourglass crystal embellished gown with oversized cocktail rings and a classic Betty page bob
Speaking of old school Hollywood Glamour. Selena Gomez looks so happy and is the one to take notes ✍️ off of in custom peach Ralph Lauren.
The mermaid cut. The Embellishments. That knockout diamond necklace.
24 Carat Gold, baaabby.
Y’all I am really liking most of what I’m seeing. It’s kind of amazing. I haven’t seen anything I didn’t like. Great red carpet this year.
Lisa in a tuxedo-inspired pantsuit that is so unique and interesting and I love it so much.
I don’t know who this is but this is probably my favorite Oscars red carpet look in history. My feelings are intense, strong, almost angry.
