Also, thanks for letting me host the glow party karaoke 😉 for the sake of everyone’s dignity no videos shall be shared here, but I think everyone had plenty of fun and it was a much needed sense of relief for our little corner of the science universe

After the GRS, I was lucky to stay for the Bioorganic Chemistry GRC, chaired by Denise Field and @doc-jlmeier.bsky.social. This meeting is truly one of my favorite weeks of the year, and as every year, I learned so much and left the meeting so inspired in my own science!

Massive thanks to our keynote speaker, @mbogyo.bsky.social, and our career panelists Prof. JP Maianti, @ritastrack.bsky.social, and Dr. Ziad Ganim as well for sharing your science and safe words of wisdom throughout the meeting. We were so happy to have you at the GRS!

This is an excellent article on the termination of all federal funding at Harvard.

This visualization shows all of the terminated programs that were supposed to train the next generation of scientists.

Stand Up for Science Education Summer Send Off At this rally, we will stand up for science education and highlight how cuts to funding will impact the pipeline of discovery, education, and training.

During my recent Europe trip, I kept getting asked why we are not in the streets every day protesting. Here is your chance, San Diego. Join us today at noon. I will give brief remarks. See you at UCSD.

I worry that not enough of a big deal is being made about how long-term the devastation of these budget cuts to our scientific and health agencies will be, beyond the absolute ruin they will cause in the acute period.

Spirit Preliminary score: ND

Bioorganic GRC is set! I got tired of the lack of swag so made a couple of unofficial tees. Order one if you want to support the conference (or simply enjoy strange looks in grocery stores).

Now is the time for scientists to stand up against Trump’s repressive agenda | Daniel Malinsky The administration is attacking research, health and the environment. We might seem unlikely activists – but we have a duty to dissent

I wrote something to say that scientists cannot afford to be 'apolitical'

Scientists actually have the skills and the duty to join in the fight against authoritarianism

I fundraised for the Alzheimer’s Association when I ran the Chicago marathon. Proud of this organization for standing up for the science and for the NIH.
