I was a contractor working on Edwards AFB during covid. They required us to get Covid vaccines. Because of a project I was involved in, I was one of the first civilians, and possibly the first contractor on Base to get a vaccine. I was very happy to get one.

And there is now a class of YouTube videos where the title implies that the video is the trailer. But, when you watch the video, it is some wannabe influencer talking about the trailer and telling you what they think is going to happen in the movie.
I think it would be Mara "Mad Matilda" Wilson.
Is that Keith Richards?
The Mets stink because their owner is an a-hole and an idiot. It is the Cohen curse.
I think it is 25 years since the release of their first record. They are close to being eligible. Was 2001 their first album? White Stripes were inducted last year, I believe.
3 outs away and Orioles get a hit😱
Second time in the last year a Cleveland pitcher has taken a no hitter into the 9th.
We're supposed to be the strongest military on the planet and we can't even properly feed our soldiers? This is how you lose a war.
And I also learned about this Cookie Monster/Tom Waits gem:

And a reverse day off too. Rather than running away from school, she ran to the doggie equivalent of school.
How did I not know about this Cookie Monsre/Tom Wait video before this? Oh, internet, you have let me down.
Based upon my friend's reaction (Hating G. W. Bush) and his job at NSA, I wondered if my friend had access to inside information about what Bush did in 1980. This is pure speculation, but has remained in my brain ever since.
7 of 7.
Bush supposedly had flown to Europe secretly to meet with someone from Iran to negotiate with them over the release of the hostages, making promises to the Iranians, that Reagan would give them a good deal if they delayed the release of the hostages until after the election.

During this friendly gathering around 1990, the topic of George H. W. Bush came up. This pro-Reagan person absolutely despised Bush, more than anyone I knew. One of the rumors about the '80 campaign involved Bush.

Then, around 90 or 91, I met up with some friends of mine. One of these friends had interned with the National Security Agency while in college and then worked for the NSA after he graduated. He was an ardent Reagan fan.

It wasn't until 84 or 85 that I began to hear rumors about the Reagan campaign negotiating with Iran to DELAY the release of the hostages. I was suspicious of these claims for many years. I just couldn't imagine someone doing that.

The hostages were released shortly after (hours after) Reagan was inaugurated. In my mind, the Carter administration had to have been doing the work to get them released, if they were released the same day Reagan was inaugurated.

More information on the Reagan campaign's negotiations with Iran to delay the release of hostages in 1980 until after he was inaugurated.
As a 17 year old at the time, I couldn't understand why Reagan was given credit for the release of the hostages.

Your math is off a bit. He was born 160 years ago.
Hate your neighbor but don't forget to say grace
And you tell me
Over and over and over again, my friend
You don't believe we're on the eve of destruction
No, no, you don't believe we're on the eve of destruction.
That's from the sixth Twilight film, right? I loved that movie. And bringing Johnny Depp to reprise his role as Edwards Scissorhands was a stroke of genius.
You're right. Sorry, typo.
If you're black or brown, failure to follow orders (legal or illegal) from law enforcement has been a capital offense for years.
This is an example of what makes Jose Ramirez so great. A bloop single that would have been a single for most players. But, he turns it into a double. He does stuff like this several times a week. The Guardians are now 8-4.

Overall, I agree with you that there will be an improvement in umpire’s call accuracy. I suspect there is a distance that the human eye can’t differentiate between a ball and a strike. I don't know if that is an inch or 1/2 an inch, but calls below that difference will probably be around 50-50.

Catchers probably pick up the ball after it leaves the pitchers hand and follow all the way to their glove. I suspect this difference in the approach of batters and catchers is part of the reason why catchers have a higher rate of getting calls overturned.

My guess is that most batters probably don’t actually see the ball cross the plate. But, major league hitters are good at calculating where the ball will cross the plate.
Catchers know what pitch is being thrown but need to know where the ball is when it crosses the plate.

Based upon one article (American Scientist 1984 vo. 72, issue 3, pp. 249-253), the batter loses sight of the ball about 5.5 feet from the plate. Because hitters the pitch being thrown, they need to watch the ball as it leaves the pitchers hand to figure out what sort of pitch is thrown.

The player either needs to watch the ball as it leaves the pitchers hand and then estimate where it is going to cross the plate, or pick the ball up after the pitcher releases it and tracks it to the plate.
