I had a feeling that might be it. He had his proper name on the final page, at least.

You did, you did! Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it, I had to check a couple of times before it sank in! Congrats, Jamie! This is one I’m especially happy to have because it’s another footnote in the Digi/EMAP rivalry. Thanks for allowing us to see this again 🥳

You can add @treacletruffle.bsky.social to the esteemed ranks of generous gents. So many people offering their support at the moment, honestly, I’m a bit bowled over. You’re all tip top.

In related news, a rummage tonight yielded another full box of Digi ready to go - with a ‘95 edition, oldest yet

This is an appreciation post in praise of David Walford, Tom Pesso, @jamienemeth.bsky.social and @jamesomalley.co.uk. They’ve made very kind and generous donations toward the tape storage fund recently, and I’m enormously grateful. Thanks to them, and everyone else who’s contributed for their help.

There is something wonderfully Digitiser-esque about this piece

I was on board after the first few lines, but the “Do you see?” near the end sealed it 🎂

Very fruitful trip to visit the Tape Mountain today! Another 6 boxes sorted through, and now 4 full boxes of pure Digi ready to go to the next recovery heroes that want them. 12 boxes down, 34 to go. Aiming to have them all processed by the time the clocks change again🤞Want a box? Drop me a message!

Another quick visit to sort through the storage unit yielded two full boxes of pure Digi ready to go from the Tape Mountain. Planning a much longer visit on Saturday, so will hopefully start making some good headway going through the remaining 40-odd boxes…!

Cheers Jamie, just saw this come through! Really means a lot, especially sharing the link. I’m heading to the storage unit for another dig tonight, as it happens 😁

My first proper job! Those regions effectively still exist in the electricity transmission networks, and the underlying system that governs changing supplier.

I for one believe the citizenry of Harrow should petition the local council to exactly that effect. Especially if it’s positioned directly in view of the big posh school.

BEDTIME READING: From the TV Times dated 29 May 1976, an article introducing Britain to Oracle. "The BBC has a similar, but less capacious, system called Ceefax." Ouch.

Oh no, RIP mouldy tape. Happens more than you’d think. Apparently if you run the tape occasionally that prevents build up, but who’s doing that these days?!

A pleasure as ever, Treacle. Glad you enjoyed them, only a couple of editions, but they packed a punch.
