E.P.A. Faces First Lawsuit Over Its Killing of Major Climate Rule

The EPA was created to protect Americans from polluters, but it's undermining its own ability to protect people from climate pollution, abandoning its core mission. Alongside our partners, we’re suing the EPA for this unscientific, illegal, and irresponsible move.

US Senate passes bill to boost federal science spending after White House sought major cuts The U.S. Senate voted on Thursday to approve billions of dollars in funding for federal science agencies, rejecting deep cuts proposed by President Donald Trump in space and other areas.

Wow! Yay! The Senate just rejected Trump’s proposed science cuts, voting 82–15 to boost funding for NOAA, NASA, and the NSF. The bill already passed the House 397–28. Strong bipartisan support for science still exists.

“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

A take on Benjamin Franklin’s Join, or Die political cartoon originally published by The Pennsylvania Gazette on May 9, 1754. Franklin’s cartoon was based on a superstition that if a snake was cut in pieces and the pieces were put together before sunset, the snake would return to life. The original cartoon is a woodcut showing a snake cut into eighths, with each segment labeled with the initials of one of the American colonies. This version replaces the colonies with universities targeted by the Trump administration for a ‘loyalty oath’ compact to ensure federal funding. The schools are M.I.T., Penn, Brown, UVA, Dartmouth, USC, Vanderbilt, University of Arizona, and the University of Texas. So far, M.I.T, Brown, Penn, and USC have all rejected the offer.

It’s outrageous that Sec. Kennedy is trying to fire the CDC Director — after only a few weeks on the job — for her commitment to public health & vaccines.

The Sen. HELP Committee must hold a hearing with Kennedy & the CDC Director as soon as possible.

Vaccines save lives. Period.

When Americans raised concerns about RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine views, he said he was "not gonna take away vaccines from anybody."

But now he's taking them away from millions of mommas and babies.

Vaccine recommendations should be based on science, not RFK Jr.'s political agenda.

NSF initiates more layoffs amid major agency shake-up The agency will also reassign all remote employees to in-person work at its Alexandria, Virginia, headquarters.

NSF is undergoing a massive shake-up: over 80 senior staff cut, remote work banned, the equity-in-STEM division eliminated, and hundreds of research grants scrapped.

This isn’t budget efficiency—it’s a direct attack on U.S. science, education, and equity.
