I don't understand how any woman could say they didn't know about the rise in the pension age. God forbid we should have equality in this area. I don't understand how anyone could leave a job to retire without looking into their financial situation first.

I don't remember getting any letter about any rise in the pension age but given that it was well publicised I knew what was happening. Along with my husband we looked at our finances and figured out that a lump sum and monthly private pension payments meant I need not return to work after covid.

Today I received a welcome first state pension payment. I have been a pensioner for 1 month exactly although 'economically inactive' for some time. Call me radical for a woman born in the fifties but I paid a full stamp and joined every pension scheme in every job I had.

And every one of them has been on the bloody radio this morning.

I've no idea who this is but to see such dreadful bullying behaviour is shocking. It was a few seconds before I realised it was a robot and yet I'm still shocked. It's a strange feeling for what I know is a piece of machinery. I wanted it to defend itself.

The official opposition in this country is still profoundly Eurosceptic so why would the EU put any effort into negotiating when the likelihood (at present) is that an incoming Tory government would reject rejoining, and the closer they get to Reform the more likely rejection is.
