Leanne (pictured right) is our Parkinson’s Disease Nurse & works closely with Tej (pictured left), our Consultant Geriatrician, in running our Parkinson’s service, where they see patients from across the East Grinstead & Crawley areas in their joint clinic. Leanne also visits housebound patients.

Despite this being a traditional sign of medicine, it caused quite a stir when first unveiled & some local people were concerned that the serpent would bring bad luck to the hospital - fortunately, the serpent remained to this day!

Our serpent has sat proudly atop the Jubilee Building for the last 89 years & is a local landmark. It is wrapped around a staff, symbolising Aesculapius (Greek god of medicine).
