I’d welcome to you my country. We have cow science and government might even pay you to prove how cow science works!
There is also a cow god.
And because cow is god it must heal something by anything that it can give.
But there is no cure for stupidity. 🥲

Science lies in its humble acceptance of not knowing it all & Theology gives people @ fence of critical thinking to leap into metaphysics where they call it their culture/ beliefs/God. I concur with you. Theology frequently serves as a tool for pseudoscience disguised in the veil of metaphysics

Uranium detected in breastmilk samples in Bihar, 70% of infants at risk: Study A recent study flagged the presence of uranium in the breastmilk of lactating mothers across several districts in Bihar.

www.indiatoday.in/india/story/...

This is India’s youngest and sadly the poorest state. Its insane that all the samples tested positive!? Imagine the risks and the level of exposure. Above all, the sheer ignorance of authorities

history shows that the ideals of scientific objectivity can be undermined or co-opted. i think its important that scientists actively address the risks of social and political misuse of science. Sci Comm must be political in authoritarian times, anywhere, everywhere

Despite its ideals, science cannot escape its social embedding,When science becomes entangled with state power or social movements that prioritize hierarchy, nationalism, or exclusion, it can be mobilized in support of authoritarian ideologies, including fascism.

While science is defined by objectivity and evidence, its practice is still inevitably shaped by human subjectivity and social factors, which explains why pseudoscience can flourish and skepticism may devolve into uncritical belief or misinformation instead of authentic scientific thinking.

J.B.S Haldane, one of my favourite scientists settled in my country (India). And it is with great regret that i say that a major chunk of STEM graduates of India will not he aware of his works beyond a few line. Here’s a part of his lecture delivered on India’s public radio:

The World’s Newsrooms Can Learn From Bill McKibben’s Climate Journalism Traditional journalists complain that he is an advocate—the same criticism Woodward and Bernstein faced during Watergate.

And here we are. Another damn’d thick, square book. A real wrist-sprainer. UK edition (pictured) has endpapers showing Crick and Brenner’s blackboard and colour plates. Both U.K. and US editions have sections heralded by a double page photo as here. Loads of illustrations. Out in November!

India will one day (i hope soon, wishful, i know) have hirings like these. History and philosophy of science are foundational learnings that are entirely absent from mainstrem STEM education in India. What injustice to the beauty of sciences. We have science graduates who dont know Vienna ⭕️existed

Where did our scientists go?
Where are our philosophers?

I Think, Therefore I Am: Why Philosophy Matters in the Age of AI ddnews.gov.in/en/i-think-t...

With rise of pseudoscience (which imo is a political tool used to dwarf critical thinking in masses by populist leaders) the scientific community debunking, collectivising, and fighting against this absent. Why? I dont know, philosophy is dead and thinking is being outsourced to AI (2/n)

Scientists, Philosophers and Thinkers have historically been profound in anchoring the social realities of our times. Scientists worked against Nazis and philosophers seeded the ideas of rationality, critical thought and dialectics. At present, all of this seems absent. It is concerning (1/n)

The entire anti science narrative which sits in the heart of conservative politics worldwide is a scary phenomenon. Acetaminophen is one of the safest drugs and very effective! Also the throwing of word “autism” in every drug and vaccine debate by science deniers is laughable but again! FDA? Why? 🫥
