The tray between them was crowded with dishes of food, in greater quantity than in previous days. "I can't eat all that," Suguru said. Satoru just looked amused. He picked up a small bowl of miso soup and lifted it to his own mouth, tipping it up and draining it. His pale throat flexed, larynx bobbing, as he drank. Then he set down the bowl and picked up a second one, holding it up for Suguru. Leaning forward to accept it, Suguru drank. Satoru watched him as he did, and there was a strange intimacy in the way their eyes locked over the rim of the small bowl as Suguru swallowed. Stacking the empty bowls, Satoru picked up the single set of chopsticks and one of the bowls. He took a bite for himself, then offered up the next one to Suguru, apparently unbothered by the prospect of sharing chopsticks with a prisoner-peasant who was stinking and filthy in a cell. Suguru's tongue touched the chopsticks as his mouth closed around the food, thinking of Satoru's saliva on the chopsticks and wanting Satoru's tongue in his mouth. "Why are you doing this yourself?" Suguru asked, as Satoru took his next bite from the chopsticks that Suguru's tongue had touched. Satoru's brow furrowed as if the question didn't make sense, even though Suguru had asked it before. "Feeding me, cleaning me, braiding my hair," Suguru elaborated. "Why not send a servant to do all this?" "Hm." Satoru fed Suguru another bite, then took one for himself as he thought it over. The chopsticks twirled and flicked in his fingers between bites, thoughtlessly elegant, like he was wielding a calligraphy brush or etching sigils in the air. "Maybe I just don't want anyone else to touch you," Satoru suggested, with a playful smirk, eyes alight with something sharply mischievous. Possessive desire surged in Suguru's belly. He kept his own expression blank.
