Voldemort is supposedly dead but survives thanks to his Horcruxes. He becomes obsessed with killing Harry and will stop at nothing to do so. He even recruits Lucius Malfoy's son Draco to his ranks. Draco is given his first mission in his 6th year at Hogwarts. The consequences for failure are dire.

During the First Wizarding War, he learns of a prophecy and subsequently marks Lily and James Potter and their young son Harry for death. He finds them, despite measures taken to keep them safe. Harry survives the Killing Curse, thanks to his mother's sacrifice. He us the only person ever to survive

His reign of terror begins soon after leaving Hogwarts. He tries to apply for the Defense Against The Dark Arts post but is denied. He curses the position and henceforth no professor who obtains the post keeps it for more than a year. He then unleashes terror with his followers known as Death Eaters

He then frames a young Rubeus Hagrid for things he did while unleashing the basilisk. A girl, Myrtle, is killed in one of the attacks. He reigns to know nothing about these things to Dumbledore but the professor is still suspicious and keeps a close watch on Voldemort after this.

At first, the young Voldemort is against this but eventually accepts. He gets sorted into Slytgerin upon arrival. As a student, he develops an interest in the Dark Arts, namely the concept of Horcruxes. It is at Hogwarts that he fashions the name Lord Voldemort. He opens the Chamber of Secrets.

He doesn't learn he is a wizard until he turns 11. Before this point, he finds he can do things he can't explain, once such thing being controlling people and animals. He learns that he is a wizard from Albus Dumbledore. Dumbledore tells him about Hogwarts and offers him a place there.

Lord Voldemort is born to a witch named Merope Gaunt and a Muggle named Tom Riddle. He despises that his father is a Muggle. He thinks his mother wasn't a powerful witch since she died shortly after giving birth to him. She names him Tom Marvolo Riddle before dying. He despises his name.
