People say that Labour hasn’t delivered, but after just 18 months, Gorton and Denton have joined the new elite.

Drastic change in Man Utd's fortunes since they ditched a leader who obstinately stuck to a plan his team didn't like and which was clearly not delivering results.

May be a lesson there...

Diminished Keir Starmer at the limit of his powers Andy Burnham veto leaves government where it started — with a weakened PM struggling to push controversial policy through parliament

Keir Starmer's essential problem: he is record-breaking unpopular, Labour MPs aren't minded to do anything controversial or unpopular, they are drifting towards a v painful 2027-8 if events don't do them a massive favour:

All this talk of how BlueSky is just a liberal comfort zone but over on the other place, former cabinet ministers are getting hyped about a petition to re-run the general election.

Thats a fair point. Suppose we do need to wait and see what the side looks like with a bit of confidence and fluency before judging. One bonus of Amorim coming in now is that he gets a good look at them for the next 6 months, and can then decide what areas can only be fixed by going into the market.

Yeh not writing Garnacho off or anything. Just that hes not a saviour in the manner of a Cole Palmer or Lamine Yamal. Think ultimately we're gonna need a player like that. Saka/Haaland/Salah/Vinicius. Just lacking a real top level attacker. Think the rest of the side can be fixed relatively easily.

Yeh, trying him as an attacking midfielder next to Bruno will surely happen at some point. Need him closer to the opposition goal. For a club of our size though, we really do need an attacker with an X-factor. Hoped Garnacho could be that man, but hes struggled a bit this season.

I agree. Ugarte is a workhorse and Mainoo has that rare ability to be able to dribble out of a press. We looked a bit sluggish and one-paced in midfield today.

As you say, early days, but it wasnt great. Suspect the "beating the press" will improve with Lisandro and Shaw coming in, but the final 3rd is a real worry. Is there enough guile and goals in that front 3? Not sure.

Bit of a reality check in the end. Understandably gonna take time to adjust to the new system, but while we were pretty solid, we struggled to transform defence into attack. Lacked that bit of magic that Hutchinson provided for them. Maybe Kobbie will help.

Sensational run from Amad

Good shout. Him at LWB, Dalot RWB, and Amad AM would seem a more natural fit if we're playing 3-4-3.

Thats whats rumoured. Know Ruben played wingers as wingbacks at Sporting, but Amad as a wingback wasnt something i saw coming. Interesting to see how narrow Garnacho plays too.

Interesting lineup. More attacking than i imagined, especially if its in a 3-4-3. All eyes on the wingbacks, and where Garnacho fits in.

Not unless theres 2-3 players playing in positions theyre not used to.

Correct. I like the conversation. The blue ticks and bots killed that on the other site by clogging up the replies with spam.

At this point Nev surely knows how influential he is, and how his comments will be highlighted. Be nice if he was a bit more careful rather than piling extra attention onto our players.

He's very "Pep Guardiola".

All of this voted on inside first 30 minutes of meeting. Not a dragged out process. No we have to see it City after it’s “seismic win 😵‍💫” in arbitration will drag the league through more legal action after this vote didn’t go its way.

Manchester City have done something right to keep Guardiola so long. Just four seasons at Barcelona, the team of his heart, and three at Bayern. But will be ELEVEN at Man City if he sees out his contract. The romance of the project must be what has kept him there so long.

Sums up City really. Guess its amazing that its all so unforeseen - that a state with limitless resources would use those resources to circumnavigate the rules.

Good time for it with United too, with a change in manager washing away some of the old agendas. Clean start 😂
