I want to lift up something important: my dear friend Andrea - a pal with a heart bigger than any campaign we've ever played - is running a fundraising event this weekend while living with terminal cancer.
Her strength and generosity inspire me.

If anyone is curious I'm making the Easy Crochet Dog Sweater for Large Dogs on Heart Hook Home's website.
Since it feels like -2 degrees outside this morning, I think I will spend my spare time crocheting the sweater for the dog on his morning walks. I'm about 1/2 way done - hopefully it's not too cold even for this sweater by the time it's finished!
I've got the first one on Audible, I'll get into it after I finish re-listening to The Inevitable Ruin
Today I'm going through the toolkit provided by the Alberta Government to prepare for next week's teachers strike.
That means adapting the suggested activities to my daughter's capabilities. It's a TON of work - and exactly what the teachers are striking for.
I support Alberta Teachers.
I'm hoping to replace the lawn in my yard when the snow melts next year. But what seeds do I want to include?
I've had good results with West Coast Seeds' Bee Turf in the Lower Mainland. But, I'm not sure it will work in Northern Alberta.
Perhaps a custom seed mix? Any suggestions?
Bird cam got set up yesterday. But now I have the urge to check it's memory card as often as I check my phone.
LOL, yes nature... I know I need to be patient 🙃
You bet!
Loading Rimworld while listen to Jeff read for Dungeon Crawler Carl Audio Immersion Tunnel season 2.
Sounds like a pretty good morning to me!
I got a Bird Cam today so I can catch a glimpse of some of the birdies in my new backyard.
Prepare for this account to become 100% bird posts. 😀🐦

Project for Awesome is finally here and boy we need it RIGHT NOW to decrease world suck!
Who's watching with me?
That's a HUGE yikes. And the article states that it has happened before in Winnepeg. I don't understand why jail is where they got sent, there are so many better options than treating them like criminals.
We already have close to $500 raised for this years Nerdfighteria Matching Fund!
Support the project for awesome in a fun and unique way! Or ask your loved ones to do it in your name this holiday season!
Acknowledging the adversity that change inevitably causes AND follow-up with possible outcomes that are beneficial.
We need to be realistic that change IS uncomfortable, but we can steer through that discomfort to positive outcomes.

Yesterday I planned out my garden calendar for 2025. Two infrastructure projects in the plan: one more raised bed and a small 5' by 5' greenhouse.
Soup. I make it once a week - sausage soup, ham and potato soup, or week's end soup (where I throw whatever if left in the fridge at weeks end). I love a nice hot soup when it's cold out and I can make it with ANYTHING.
The first session has been prepped! Honestly, it is super gratifying to see how excited she is about pulling the details out of her head and planning ways to play them out at the table. I think her players are going to have an excellent session.

Going to check it out this evening!
This weekend I plan to help guide my daughter through planning a campaign for her D&D club at school. She's never DM'ed before.
I will rely on the Lazy DM guides and 5-room dungeon tips to get her going.
Checking these out, thanks for the recommendations!
Added it to my wishlist!

After my husband's absolute blitz of LitRPG consumption, I've decided to try the genre. I LIKE IT! So far I've read:
Dungeon Crawler Carl, by Matt Dinneman, and Farmer & Keeper by Tom Larcombe.
What should I read next? Stick with these series? Or, any other recommendations?
