It’s finally happened. After 18 months. Finally, a media merger you can root for.

“Feud with the Pope” is BACK as a likely Wikipedia section heading after a 400-year gap.
My idea for the last episode of Dr Who. They travel to the start of the Universe to see the Big Bang, but due to some sort of cool adventure the Tardis explodes, killing everyone. But the Tardis is the superdense concentrated matter that creates the universe (small on outside, huge on inside)

"Hamlet!" says Mark Francois. "Now there's a guy who knows how to make up his mind!"
Fucking hell, though.
Another one for the ages.
Is it, though?

NEW—I got an exclusive excerpt from a USAID whistleblower's new book that made me gasp multiple times. It details Trump's dismantling of the humanitarian aid agency & his team/DOGE's shocking ignorance to public health.
'Into the Wood Chipper' by Nicholas Enrich is out tomorrow. Read excerpt here:
Disappointed, though not surprised, I began to describe various life- saving components of USAID’s global health portfolio, highlighting how we prepare for and respond to emerging pandemic threats; support the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV; and immunize millions of children from the deadliest childhood diseases. I spoke for about five minutes, focusing primarily on our infectious diseases work and hoping to keep the attention of people who seemed to have no experience—or interest—in global health. When I finished, the room was silent, the political appointees looking at one another in what appeared to be disbelief. The silence was broken by Ken Jackson, who chuckled softly and shook his head. “Wow, there really is so much that USAID does that we never knew,” he said. “This is the story that needs to get out there.” Joel, also smiling, chimed in next, echoing Jackson’s amazement. “I had no idea you did all this,” he said. “As a Republican, when I think of what USAID does in global health, I assumed it was just, you know, abortions.”
This is NUTS

🇺🇦🇪🇺 Zelensky: We must ensure that our capabilities are such that Europeans can produce here, in Europe.
Our European industry, our technological base, our military and political capabilities must be sufficient to ensure that Europe has reliable protection of life under all conditions.
Breaking:
During a press conference Péter Magyar reports that the yet Foreign Minister of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, and his team have started to shred evidence relating to their involvement with Russia in the offices of MFA.

Hungarians showing how to win big in an unfair election: organize AND protest AND vote AND demand profound change.
I’ve been trying to figure out why I’ve been obsessed with the Artemis II mission — more obsessed than I usually am with NASA stuff.
This explains it!

Okay, The Rest Of Us, we must not let the Hungarians down. They are leading us.
A healthy democracy requires more than elections.
It requires accountability, transparency, and an engaged public that refuses to look away.
Hungary has chosen Europe.
Europe has always chosen Hungary.
A country reclaims its European path.
The Union grows stronger.
went to check out the techno rave outside Parliament and I don't think I have the data allowance to share a video from it but let me tell you: there sure is a techno rave outside Parliament right now, celebrating Orban getting ousted
A toppled tyrant in Eastern Europe makes me think of Leonard Bernstein on Christmas Day 1989 at the Schauspielhaus Berlin just weeks after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

When a person loses 1 sense the others are heightened. That's why people who have no sense of humor have an amazing sense of self-importance.
Thank you to @caolanrob.bsky.social for the photo and great work in exposing Orban.
Sony Thăng @nxt888 X.com The hardest thing to take from someone is not their money or their land. It is the story they tell about themselves. The story American empire tells its citizens is: You are the good ones. Your country, whatever its flaws, is fundamentally a force for good. Your soldiers protect freedom. Your institutions protect rights. Your influence protects stability.
The world is better because you are in it and worse in the places you have not yet reached. That story is the real product of empire. Not the oil. Not the military bases. Not the trade agreements. The story. Because as long as citizens believe the story, they will fund the empire. They will staff it. They will defend it from criticism. They will vote for it.
They will silence their own doubts when the story requires it. The most efficient empire is not one that rules by force alone. It is one that makes its citizens feel proud to maintain it. America built that empire. It is genuinely impressive in a cold, architectural way. But the story has been cracking for a long time. And stories, once they crack, do not repair themselves. They just keep cracking. 6:02 AM • 4/11/26 • 4.8K Views
I generally avoid using the term “imperialism” when discussing geopolitics because the term is often thought-terminating for the reader and because the quest for empire is an ever-present part of human history.
That said, I think the post below is worth reading and considering:
