I agree with your comments. Asylum seekers are only a tiny fraction of the immigrants. Yes, we do need immigration for the obvious reasons you have stated.
I just think that being in the EU and free movement to and from Europe was a better option.

I do not see this as a matter of Right or Left.
Immigration has become unsustainable.
Leaving the E U has pushed Immigration to unsustainable levels.
