She was there!! She even received a musher gift as well! We were excited to have her join us at race finishes, sprint races, and around the community!

Yessss!! I’m all about warm gear! Took me a while to find a pair of boots that worked for me but these look amazing! Seriously giving them some thought!!

The bib drawing dinner has started to reignite with the tradition of a sii fish feed. That was organized by the amazing Bailey Schaeffer! She made so many different sii dishes as well! So tasty and very Kotzebue!!

There will be so many community members that show up and bring a dish to pass, all coordinated by the banquet’s fearless organizer: Margaret Hansen.

On the flip side of things, mushers will have a meeting tonight and then the banquet will start at 6pm!

So full lunch break chaos is in swing for banquet preparation! We are so excited to hear the stories and see the awards!

I can’t remember if I shared this before…but I would just like to reflect on how Virág is the most time disciplined individual I’ve ever seen! Haha

I noticed her Noorvik rest was EXACTLY 4 hours and wondered if it was a fluke…then Selawik was 4 hours…Kobuk was 3hours, Ambler 2 was 4 hours

Watching Jennifer coming in! I was selfishly hopeful she’d be in over my lunch break, but only time will tell! I haven’t missed a musher yet this year and that would be a record for me to get 100% of finishes!

It is taken, unfortunately! (But the Kotzebue finish is mile marker 381 which is still free. 🙈 The name K440 came from an older race that was the Kobuk 220 and they tried to make it roughly twice as long. The distance does change depending on where the trails run—river or land—and snow each year).
