PS - they’d pick 2, 23, 33, 44 + 3 1st + 2nd in 2027. Worst case they’d have a solid 2027 backup QB for someone they draft next year if McKee doesn’t pan out. And who are their other QBs this year if Geno gets hurt? Tiny Risk, Massive Upside.

The next “pick among these 2” mocks you do have the Eagles offer the Jets 23+Tanner McKee for 16. Think about the risk vs reward for the Jets in moving down 7 spots in a draft most agree 15-50 are interchangeable. And think about the team the Jets could build around him if McKee pans out.

1/2 I just wasted 90 minutes watching Todd McShay & Joel Klatt choose Blake Miller for the Eagles in two separate high-profile mocks. The Eagles are NOT taking a mediocre “high-floor” RT to replace Lane Johnson for the next ten years.

EVERY politician should be doing this. [Video] Zohran Mamdani’s team meets with everyday New Yorkers and takes notes in real time. A short reminder that listening should be part of governing.

📝🍐 EVERY politician should be doing this.

Simple post, simple point, and it lands.

Listening to regular people should not feel rare, novel, or revolutionary, and this one makes that clear fast.

When Ukraine eventually wins Putin’s war against them Trump’s toadying submission to Putin coupled with his attempts to bully Ukraine into surrender will be viewed as one of the most pathetic acts of cowardice in human history.

I dropped a short thread last night on PAUL ROBESON's historic football career:

* First Rutgers player named 1st team All-American by Walter Camp
* Camp: "greatest DE who ever trod the gridiron"
* Among first four Black players in NFL
* Played with/for Fritz Pollard, NFL's first Black coach

It was Professor Lukacs’ writing and studies that brought Agnes to life for me. This brilliant, long-forgotten writer deserves to be considered among America’s greatest, and whenever I have the chance I try to bring her into view for someone who may appreciate her brilliance as much as I do.

When I was a teenager I had a friend whose father was a WWII immigrant from Hungary who became a renowned historian and professor at Chestnut Hill College outside of Philadelphia. His name was John Lukacs and you get the idea that he and Agnes, separated by almost a century, were kindred spirits.

Agnes was just such a brilliant historian and student of letters when it came to reading and writing. One of my favorite anecdotes about her is when a contemporary, marveling at her work, asked “Has she read everything ever written and forgotten nothing?”

Many smart people still fail to realize that the death of another person doesn’t affect Trump one way or the other. He really and truly does not care.

Slight trade down for Max, EMW or Lomu. Lomu has good size, very athletic, and will likely play Guard where I think he’d grade out on par with Iaone. If we miss Thieneman I’d be okay with Terrell or Ponds in slot and Coop at safety full time.

No way on Tyson. Repeated tissue injuries not worth the risk. Trade up to 16-17 for 1) Thieneman, 2) Sadiq. Either could make signif contribution in 2026. At 23, Terrell or any OL besides Miller, he’ll be avg+, never great. Much prefer a WR at 54 (Bernard) or 68/98.

When I return home tomorrow I will send you her beautiful farewell to Agrippina. I guarantee you will adore it. She also wrote a book, I believe in 1902, called The Fireside Sphinx, which is a literary delight for cat lovers of all shapes and sizes.

This sounds very similar to how American writer Agnes Repplier bade farewell to her dearest Agrippina; A little shade who stole too soon from the warm sun, dearly loved and early lost.

And if this is correct I’d be willing to bet that I’m the first and only person to mention it.

Huge Agnes fan :)

My backup dream was D’Angelo Ponds at nickel and Coop to safety full time.

1. Who’s to say McKee doesn’t beat out Geno?
2. What happens when Geno gets hurt? Do they just tank the rest of the way?
3. Would they prefer to get their 3rd back instead of McKee; pk68? Okay.

2 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

Think about: What if Geno gets hurt? Who’s playing QB then? Mark Sanchez?

2 weeks ago 0 0 1 0

They should build a great team and hope for the best with McKee, and if his best role proves to be a backup then you install a top of drat QB in 2027 onto a team absolutely loaded with good, young, CHEAP talent.

2 weeks ago 1 0 0 0

And to top it all off: what if they gamble on Simpson, but he doesn’t play until November and looks mediocre at best. Do you hang in with him and miss the 2027 QBs or do you use a lot of draft capital and pick ANOTHER QB next year? What a mess.

2 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

The sum total of their risk? Moving down 7 spots from 16 to 23 in a draft where 15-45 are all up for debate and you can probably get a guy you cover at 23 as easily as you can at 16.

2 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

The Jets would have a capable starter & backup for 2026 and an entire season to evaluate McKee as a long term starter or just a good backup, in which case they keep all their draft bounty and ID the absolute best QB prospect to acquire with 3 firsts & a second.

2 weeks ago 1 0 1 0

Think how much sense this trade would make for the Jets with so little risk: Eagles send 23+McKee to NYJ for 16 in order to draft Thieneman.

2 weeks ago 1 0 2 0

I'm nearly the exact opposite and fwiw I'm rooting hard for them to get (1) Thieneman, or (2) EMW in rd1. Haulcy is a big hitter and reminds me of Dawk. Rutledge is a nasty guard ready to compete with Steen right now. I like Delp & Hurst but those positions are just so deep this year so I'd wait.
