This analysis looks more negative than it maybe is. Although only four parties scored positively on our analysis current polls do suggest a significant majority in the Scottish Parliament between them.

It is absolutely vital that our parliament elects a majority in favour of resisting this dark chapter in our history.
A majority can push back and ensure our society remains is made safe for the LGBTQ+ community with it.
This is a continuation of the institutionalised conversion practices campaign we've seen from the Conservative and Labour Parties in Westminster, the EHRC, and our NHS.
Conversion through efforts to make the lives of trans people impossible through social regulation and denial of healthcare.
This is among the most extreme anti-LGBTQ+ policy ever announced in a Scottish election and shows the extent to which anti-trans sentiment in our political elite has escalated in recent years.
We hope to have better news as further party platforms are announced.

• Delivering single-sex spaces on the basis of biological sex, in NHS wards, schools, sport and everyday life by upholding the Equality Act and delivering clear instructions to public services on how to comply with their legal obligations to women and to trans people. Keeping women's prisons for women, instructing the Scottish Prison Service to remove all biologically male prisoners from women's prisons within days of the election. • Recommit the NHS to delivering single sex wards on the basis of biological sex, and ensuring patients can request same sex provision wherever possible. Work to deliver a conversion practices ban on a four nation basis to prevent the creation of any possible loopholes across the UK and protect LGBT+ people from harmful conversion practices.
Unfortunately as the first election manifestos have been unveiled it has not been positive news for our campaign.
After the Family Party - The Scottish Labour Party manifesto is clearly hostile to our existence in public life and society, with segregationist policy announced even to "everyday life"

This is a welcome decision. All trans people, regardless of where they live, should be able to transition without humiliating legal obstacles.
I’m a survivor of conversion therapy. As a teenager, it nearly took my life and left deep wounds.

Scotland has been working on ending conversion practices since the End Conversion Therapy petition was passed to the Parliament’s Equalities and Human Rights Committee in 2020. In January 2022, with Joe FitzPatrick as convener, the committee made strong recommendations for how to do this right.
