Really weird anecdote, because Russian Soldiers didn’t wear socks in WWII.

We just canceled this “service.”
All it did was make my daughter scream and cry even more, as well as my wife.
I think the lesson is that, outside of a medical issue, parents know best.
We’ve been paying a sleep consultant to help with sleep training this baby, and it is NOT money well spent. Nearly every piece of advice is contradictory or makes no apparent sense, and none of it helps.
I'm excited to share that we've made a collection of historic Supreme Court Records and Briefs available via

I've written a blog post where I go into detail about the importance of this collection.

As someone who hates cardio, I would consider buying a robot to do all my running, so I can dedicate more time and attention to lifting weights.
We thought about maybe booking a cruise when our kids are old enough. I think that’s now a much higher priority. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/16/u...
To me, it’s an automated web searcher. If browsing a Wikipedia entry on an unfamiliar topic isn’t an adequate starting point, then I’ll sometimes ask my ChatGPT my general question and see what it offers.
I’ve interviewed people like this. We did not hire them. So, good luck to him.
I built a fire pit with a cooking grate on top. Obviously this means I know how to cook stuff on it.

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty: "Are we concerned as to whether there would be federal blowback? Not a concern of ours. Our role is to hold people accountable if they violate the laws of Minnesota. We feel strongly that this ICE agent committed 2nd degree assault."
JD Vance wearing a white button-up shirt. It looks like it's a size too small for him.

In case you need a refresher.
Wow, you were right about that arc being similar.
An edited photograph showing a package containing an adult-sized costume consisting of white robe, red sash, sandals, and beard. The package is labeled, “DOCTOR”
A photograph of a cardboard box shaped like thick, rectangular cube. The ends of a metal bar are protruding from inside box, approximately six inches out each end.
I ordered a metal pipe from Lowe’s so I could make an outdoor pull up bar. I am not kidding - this is how it was packaged and dropped at my front door. I guess they couldn’t find a properly-sized box.
“The lessons of this war are not hard to find. They are exactly the same as those that should have been learnt from other wars… the folly of focusing on how much the enemy is being hurt rather than on whether political objectives are close to being met.”

On that note, if you’re on the market for a premium Bible, here’s my unboxing and review of mine. bsky.app/profile/timm...
I understand the desire to buy a quality item that you will use for a long time - shoes, clothing, appliances, and a Bible too. What I don’t get is the collector aspect. The point of having a Bible is to read it.

A graph showing when my daughter was asleep, awake, and when me or my wife had to attend to her. She slept for nearly the entire night.
A graph showing when I was asleep and awake last night. I broke 8 total hours for the first time in over 4 months.
Also, sleep training update.
Left: my daughter’s sleep last night
Right: as a result, my sleep.
A photograph of the setup. From left to right, there is a roll-top sugar cube holder with tongs, a napkin holder filled with V60 filters, the Hario Switch immersion dripper on top of the Hario Range Server, with coffee flowing into the server, my Niche grinder is in the rear-center, my Ember mug in the front-center, and my electric water kettle on the right.
A photograph of me pouring coffee from the Hario Range Server into my Ember mug.
It’s a simple thing, but I think it makes a difference. I never again need to worry about overfilling my mug or leaving a coffee ring on the counter.

A photograph of the bottom lip of the Hario Switch immersion dripper, beside the coffee, to show how large the lip is compared to the cup.
Today, I also got the Hario V60 Range Server (left). I got this because the bottom lip of the dripper often extends into the coffee in my cup (see lip on right). So if you set it down after brewing, you get a ring of coffee on the counter.

A photograph of my Hario dripper, with me holding the Clever lid over the top.
Differences (cont’d)
The Clever has a drain valve that releases when set on the mug. The Hario has a switch on the side.
The Clever comes with a lid and coaster. The Hario comes with neither. I like the lid to keep the brew hot while it steeps. Luckily, the Clever lid fits the Hario well.
(4/6)
Differences:
The Clever is plastic. The Hario is glass. As you can see, the plastic takes on an unsightly appearance over time.
The Clever has a flat bottom that accommodates standard #4 filters. The Hario has a conical bottom to accommodate their filters.
