The Kingston Railroad Station was built in 1875 by the New York, Providence, and Boston Railroad. The historic building is owned today by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. The depot is accessible via a drop-off circle off of Railroad Avenue.
The Kingston Railroad Station is distinctive for its Stick-Eastlake or Late Victorian architectural style. The wood-frame building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 26, 1978. The building remained listed on the register despite being elevated and moved back from the tracks in 1995 to allow for the construction of a high-level platform.
A view looking south from the Rhode Island Route 138 Bridge shows a southbound Amtrak train arriving at Kingston Railroad Station in South Kingston, Rhode Island, on April 5, 2025. The reinforced concrete railroad overpass was constructed in 1936 to replace the original grade crossing.
A 2017 plaque mounted inside the Kingston Railroad Station pays tribute to the Friends of the Kingston Station for their significant role in the preservation and restoration of the 1875 depot.

The Kingston Railroad Station opened in South Kingston, Rhode Island. The Late Victorian/Stick-Eastlake style building was saved and restored with the help of a friends group formed in 1973. The historic depot serves today as a stop on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor.

The beauty of so much snow along Lake Superior in 2024-25 is the many falls in Upper Michigan are at full power with all the melt. This was Eagle River Falls in Keweenaw County, Michigan, in April 2022. Go to the UP in April to check them out. Not many tourists, and no mosquitos and black flies!
This 1782 Spanish Silver real could technically be pirate treasure. There were still pirates until the 1830s. This coin was minted in Mexico City, which was the capital of what was then New Spain. This was 28 years before the war for Mexican independence from Spain would begin.
