With a dearth of contemporary crotch rock and jock jams, mainstream girl pop has been really common at hockey games for quite a while, but Chappell Roan is taking it up a notch from Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus mixed in with Sandstorm and Thunderstruck

for some reason, I remembered how this guy I hung out with in grade 9 used to give me a hard time for how I phrased things, but it was the most basic stuff; "I saw this elderly person-" "oooh look at Mr Fancy Words! "Elderly!""
"The day before yesterday-" "Wow Mr Speaks Properly!"

Both super envious of everyone in Annecy right now, and also aware that there's a decent chance I probably wouldn't enjoy myself that much if I was there. FOMO's weird.

Ah, that special twice-in-a-decade occasion when conservatives are desperately hoping to see a minority.

I'm hopeful that a big Conservative loss leads to a split in the party, forcing the radical right back to the fringes, so decent normal people can focus on pushing the Liberals and NDP further left, because everything has been sliding right for too long

These ghouls need to lose badly tomorrow. Not just because they deserve it, but because their success or failure says a lot about the kind of country we are, the kind of country we want to be, and the kind of country we will be.

The thing about art is it's all a matter of taste! I'm sure there will be growing pains & plenty of it won't be for everyone, incl myself, nor should it be! Personally, I prefer bold & expressionistic art to the sterile pursuit of perfection, but I prefer to focus on art I love than slam art I don't

Well, fascists seem to really love AI slop already, so...

I think creating with intention is becoming even more important than it already is in art.

I've found it interesting & not surprising that some of the most successful AI imitations of animation are the ones trying to match "Pixar/Disney" where in many ways it's felt like they have been refining the same style, studying & polishing their last film rather than taking inspiration from life

Something more obviously handcrafted, where the "mistakes" aren't through computation. In animation, more experimental framerates & less focus on a perfect imitation of life. More fingerprints

With all this AI slop everywhere it has me wondering if there will be an artistic response to it along the lines of how painters reacted to photography. Will we see, for lack of a better word, more idiosyncratic execution, less polish & refinement towards a singular goal. More expressionistic.
