The question is, do I lock that fic to AO3 accounts only?
I haven't been doing that with my FFXIVWrite-based projects, since I figure those were probably scraped from tumblr long ago and protecting them from genAI is a lost cause.
But this new fic would be completely new writing... hm...
And with this final chapter posted, the collection is complete!
Probably going to take a break for a little while after this, posting every day is still really draining for me for whatever reason. ^^;
But once I return, I have that other Fordola fic to upload! :D

But then, I'm the kind of person who ships characters less for the kissing (though I do love me some good wlw kissing :3), and more because I enjoy exploring different character dynamics. This project has been a great for that, given the variety of characters and relationships I got to write!
As for the ficlet itself, it's kind of a study of kid Lyse having a cute crush and being awed by her friend rather than something more overtly romantic.
Our second place ship is Lyse/Y'shtola with a whopping 87 fics! They've got a lot of advantages going for them - Y'shtola is one of the most popular characters, period, and they're also both ARR characters whose closeness gets small nods even as late as EW. A solid foundation!

Honestly, I'm still impressed that Y'shtola/Zero is in 3rd place. They were at 39 fics in 2024 (48 now!), and all of those would have to be written post-EW. That's so many for such a short time!

Also: one thing this project makes very clear is that StB was a really good expansion for lesbians! In fact, the numbers worked out such that each of the next three chapters will feature StB characters. :3
I'm much more experienced with prose than poetry, so for a long while I had thoughts of turning today's chapter into a normal ficlet. I couldn't quite find the inspiration for that, though, since I did like how eerie the poem ended up.
Perhaps it actually would have worked best as a gpose...
