it's kind of a funny one because supposedly a bunch of wine forks implement fixes for the wpf rendering issues, and those do indeed fix the language selection box but it always crashed immediately after with an xna invalid device error
I am SO happy I don't need to mess with a VM for this any more

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Avalon.Graphics, DisableHWAcceleration DWORD with a value of 1 fixes the black UI elements, and it seems like the rest of it is just doing the dependencies dance with XNA and dotNet

Managed to get designdoll fully working on linux and I can banish my Windows VM to the shadow realm mwahahaha

The main thing I felt was that after the first one you know that the island missions are superflous and not where the 'real' building happens, so you're motivated to do the barest minimum there because none of it really matters, subsequently making it drag on really badly

Lack of a Switch 2 for Pokopia made me pick up DQB2 a while ago and I got around to finishing it yesterday
Fun game, you can tell they learned a fair bit from it which they applied to Pokopia, though it does also look like they dialled some stuff back.
Main story does drag quite a bit tho

yeah, tried a bunch of things and it just won't see the headset, CV1 support is kinda messy like that

that's the one thing I can't seem to get working even though lsusb shows it being picked up as a valid device, I feel like the issue there is on steamVR's side

multiple improvements to stuff I use on linux in one day is a blessing
don't think there's very much left that I'm walled off from by running linux now, everything now just kind of works

Spent a while trying to get live2D to work on WINE since I managed to get it working enough to register etc before.
Inexplicably, it stopped working, and I couldn't get it to work at all with it just freezing on boot.
