I can't help seeing her as more of an entrepreneur.
I miss you, buddy.
Lots and lots of Jelly Tots.
I had forgotten all about the Jelly Tots thing, and then I was shopping for snacks at London Drugs tonight, and guess what I found?
Sadly, we were really only friends for 6 or 7 years, because he was killed in a motorcycle accident at a pretty young age.
Over the years I've thought about him often, because he was one of the first of MY people to die. And he was a good guy. Smart, funny as hell. Excellent taste in music.
Pete was the first person I ever had a conversation about music with in a bar.
Later on we worked together for a couple years, and Pete's obsession at that time was Jelly Tots. He used to write "lots and lots of Jelly Tots" everywhere.
A long time I ago I was friends with this guy named Pete. We knew each other from highschool, but we also knew each other from a bar called the Cascade. In grade 12 we were both old enough to drink, because the drinking age was still 18 at that point.
It's funny how they picked the douchiest-looking guy they could find to model them.
Now I'm flashing back. There was a gag in Creem magazine back in that era, saying that in an effort to be more hip, Slade was now pronouncing their name "slar-day."
SO handsome.
Small world. I had pretty much the same hair in that era.
I probably shouldn't tell you that I have pretzels and Miss Vickie's.
Absolutely incredible.
NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.
Watch with sound on.
That's not a Satan I would say "get behind me" to.
I'd be tempted to buy it just based on the name.
I suspect people would pay money to see such a thing.
So saddened to hear about Gary Kelley’s passing. Kelley has been my favorite illustrator since i’ve been in art school, and you cannot overstate the level of influence he’s had on the American illustration cannon. One of the greatest to ever do it, and A terrible loss
A smiling man in a black suit and white tie stands beside a large, brightly colored puppet character. The puppet has a round yellow face, red yarn-like hair, green eyelids, a red nose, and a wide pink mouth, with green-gloved hands raised to its cheeks. The background features a lime-green wall covered with various drawings and artwork pinned up.
Sid Krofft has died.
Born in Montreal in 1929, he co-created several children's shows with his brother Marty including H.R. Pufnstuf, Land of the Lost and Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.
Marty passed away in 2023.
mock-cover to LIFE OUT OF ORDER by Audrey Niffenegger
A sequel to THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE???
Sign me the hell up!
This is horse shit and if you buy it you’re a fucking idiot.
Even with the sound off, you can tell that guy is a raving asshole.
Guaranteed those are guys who've never had the opportunity, so they make it sound like it's their choice.
Highly relevant quote from the late Mr. Lemmy Kilmister:
"Some people just insult your intelligence, and when you react they call you troublesome. You get a bad name for asserting your intelligence and independence."
Instant block. I do not want your theft-based, planet-killer writing hollowed of lived experience. Fuck off and keep on fucking off till the waves swallow you. AI always means Arseholes Involved. You will find nothing but derision and harsh curses for it in Hookland.
*hurriedly looking for my planet of the apes mask*
Somehow I knew that.
Haven't made that walk in years, but it was one of my favourites for sure.
One more reason that Montreal is such an awesome town.
