Writing is also a harder thing for people to quickly grasp the quality of. Someone says "I am a good artist and animator" and we can look and see if that's true.

Another says "I am a good writer" and that is harder to quickly assess, but also they may be confidently wrong and the viewer can't tell

I've long believed that 5e has traumatizing effect on people and damaged so many players' perception of TTRPGs. No part of that lengthy learning process informs them that other systems *are* easier to learn, cheaper, and unburdened by 50+ years of sacred cows and "lifestyle brand" nonsense

You want an easy to manage, intuitive inventory system?

You want a game where you are supposed to make a rag-tag squad of weirdos saving the world?

You want ALL OF THAT AND MORE in an affordable single book with great layout and amazing art? Fabula Ultima Has It For You™

You want an easy to learn system that newbies to RPGs can quickly grasp?

You want a system where everyone gets to make a mashup of only the coolest abilities that fit their character?

You want a highly adaptable ruleset that easily conforms to a wide variety of settings and genres?

Everyone voted for Fabula Ultima to be next month's game, so I've been hurriedly reading through that to prepare a one-shot for that.

The thing that struck me all at once with this system is that it's everything 5e players pretend 5e is and what they badly want 5e to be.

In an effort to overwhelm myself with too many projects, I started up a monthly RPG club at my library. We had our first session a few weeks ago with Monster of the Week.

It was a little messy because I had TEN people, but I've since had several of them reach out and say how much they enjoyed it.

Every article frames it as "almost" half for some reason, while reporting that it's actually more than half going nowhere and also that the other half that's still allegedly happening haven't even really begun work yet.

I didn't get to do any of the early playtests, but you telling me directly about BREAK!! led me to keeping an eye on your dev blog for it for years.
