Hope to see more serious and thoughtful reps do more than talk about AI. Governments should be using data to identify which industries AI and robotics can tackle to replace workers. Allowing AI giants to develop in any direction they like is dangerous and negligent. youtu.be/znKb71kLG5c?...
Lots of lies and grievance being spread on YouTube by unknown people from unknown countries in support of Alberta's independence movement.

Yeah but when it mattered Canadians knew they couldn't give him the top job. He's a Harper flunky with no charisma or passion. Just another power hungry mouth piece.
I love watching him flail. I hope he stays on as leader for years. That smug smirk is cracking more every day.
When Calgary collects taxes from these jurisdictions maybe they can vote as Calgarians. And maybe that 20% property tax increase from the UCP will change the loyalties of our more rural neighbours?

In the months leading up to the midterm elections, hundreds of accounts have emerged on social media featuring A.I.-generated pro-Trump influencers posting at a rapid pace. Several accounts have already amassed thousands followers. Some of the posts have more than half a million views.
12/12 We have to face the reality of what's happening.
👉 This isn't about ensuring fair representation; it's just a plan to cheat, pure and simple.

Captain Canada strikes again
It costs the City of Ottawa $465/person each year to serve new low-density homes, over & above what it receives from property taxes/fees.
On the other hand, high-density infill such as apartment buildings pays for itself plus an extra $606/person each year.
Sprawl costs, infill saves. #UrbanTruth
This is our cat Frank. Frank's a girl and she likes food. Whats your cat's name?
If you live in YYC, a cool place to go and be with people or on your own with people is www.congresscoffeeshop.com. Im in the bookclub and its kept me sane this year.
What a government bans is so frequently indicative of what they fear the most.
"The cloud" is consuming resources just as inflation is sky rocketing creating higher demand. Reduce your phone use and dont get hooked on AI. Going for a walk is an act of resistance. Disconnect.

The UCP-appointed fmr judge who led Alberta Boundaries Commission warned MLAs against “minority” proposal for splicing several city ridings with rural areas. Unconstitutional, US-style maneuvring, he wrote: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/electoral-boundary-commission-dallas-miller-9.7143937
Klaszus has a 2023 clip of Michelle Remple Garner passionately speaking against NIMBYs and I had to listen to it twice to believe it. Maybe I don't know my MP as well as I thought... Great episode of Sprawlcast. Support @sprawlcalgary.bsky.social if you can.
No. No. Nine times no! Five very smart Albertans on why we need to call out these 9 referendum questions for what they are. And why we all have a role to play in speaking out. #ableg #abpoli #AlbertaUnbound #cdnpoli #SenateofCanada
18/21 Prime Minister Mark Carney's federal government is pushing the Supreme Court to go even further.
Ottawa argues that preventing people from exercising their rights for years through repeated use of the clause is equivalent to eliminating those rights.

If you know a senior that could use an outing, some company and a delish meal for just $7, please tell them about it. www.highlandparkcommunity.ca/seniors-lunc...
I havent had any grandparents in my life so that intergenerational connection was missing...so maybe it shouldnt be so surprising. I look forward to seeing everyone in the program each month and its growing; we had 30 come out today.
Today was pumpkin soup; pork loin with mash, gravy and broccoli; and mocha cheesecake.
Volunteering to support local people is really good for me but Ive also been pleasantly surprised by connections with some seniors that I really like and admire.
Its been a year this month that Ive been coordinating the Seniors Luncheon at the HPCA. A recovery house in Greenview, Fresh Start, provides an amazing meal delivered from their kitchen at cost every month, which is always so yum.
Calgary councils have been negligent of their responsibilities to the future of this city for decades. If you look at zoning like council should have looked at water infrastructure 20 years ago, what are the priorities?
Many NIMBYs are retired and have a lot more time and resources than those that might organize to represent a YIMBY perspective if they had the time, money, education and influence.
I was a defence lawyer in Alberta for 10 years, and during that time I periodically worked as a crown prosecutor and then full-time as a crown prosecutor the year before I left. I saw the police lie frequently, effortlessly, and casually.
I was a commissioner with the Calgary Police Commission for 4 years, starting in 2020. I sat in hundreds of hours of meetings. In these oversight and governance meetings, I asked questions to police officers. They would often lie in their responses to me, as a regular practice. 1/
