Sigh, I did warn that Ores would get messy without either Sulfur/Cinnabar Ores or changing how ore generation works.

Hopefully something changes next week.

I had assumed that the Granite would generate above y=0 and Tuff would generate below, but both actually are actually all over.

Honestly from what I've seen, it doesn't look great. And it causes the Ore type inconsistency issue I had said last week should be avoided.

Shorter Sulfur Spike clusters should also hopefully make the biome less like the Dripstone Caves.

Granite and Tuff now generate with the blocks in Sulfur Caves! This is likely Mojang's solution to increasing ore generation.

Hey I've seen this one before! (yes, we need a sustainable source for Gunpowder that does not make players resort to unintuitive technical farms).

The attached post documents my thought process on why I believe this recipe is both appropriate and balanced.

In regards to concerns about Sulfur Gold Ore and Cinnabar Redstone Ore not standing out well, I think they're alright here.

I'd definitely say that both are much better than Deepslate Coal Ore.

I designed what Sulfur and Cinnabar Ore textures could look like with proper shading and highlighting around the minerals (instead of just pasting them into the base texture).

Thanks, a lot of people were telling me I should incorporate Bone Meal, but it took me a bit to find why that was the recommendation and how it connected to Saltpeter. Also I didn't realize until revisiting the idea that Saltpeter is ~75% of Gunpowder, which makes it hard to ignore

Added Bone Meal to take the place of Saltpeter since it can be gathered from agricultural waste (which in Minecraft is Bone Meal)

- Granite/Diorite/Andesite gens above y=0, replaced by Stone Ores.
- Tuff gens below y=0, replaced by Deepslate Ores.
- Sulfur and Cinnabar generate both above and below y=0. If ores are meant to replace them, either Stone or Deepslate would be somewhere it shouldn't.

This feels like a more balanced recipe to me, since it still uses (renewable) Sulfur but doesn't incentivize tearing apart the entire biome for Gunpowder. What do y'all think?

I noticed this, but I'm not sure what this change does for us. I guess we can have random model variants (and can change the model too I suppose), but is there something more this allows that I'm missing?

No increased damage from falling on Sulfur Spikes I guess? Interesting to make that different, which would make them not as dangerous as Pointed Dripstone in Dripstone Caves.
