- Granite/Diorite/Andesite gens above y=0, replaced by Stone Ores.
- Tuff gens below y=0, replaced by Deepslate Ores.
- Sulfur and Cinnabar generate both above and below y=0. If ores are meant to replace them, either Stone or Deepslate would be somewhere it shouldn't.

This feels like a more balanced recipe to me, since it still uses (renewable) Sulfur but doesn't incentivize tearing apart the entire biome for Gunpowder. What do y'all think?

- I think Sulfur Spikes generate too frequently. Their abundance in Sulfur Caves should not rival that of Pointed Dripstone in Dripstone Caves, as they are the main feature of that biome. (2/3)

I noticed this, but I'm not sure what this change does for us. I guess we can have random model variants (and can change the model too I suppose), but is there something more this allows that I'm missing?

No increased damage from falling on Sulfur Spikes I guess? Interesting to make that different, which would make them not as dangerous as Pointed Dripstone in Dripstone Caves.

I got the idea for using gold here from @DoradoCapitan on Twitter, shout out to him on this one.

Threw together a mock-up of a blue Sulfur Lantern, since Sulfur burns blue. Made with gold since it does not react with Sulfur.

It'd be a weird oversight to forget to add these two blocks that make up most of a biome to these tags (which to me seems pretty obvious) on both Java and Bedrock between whenever this started being developed (mid-February at latest) and today.

Of course it's possible, but it would be really odd.

What are your top wants for the remaining 1.5 months of this drop's development?

I am aware, but they do cover a very significant amount of the cave surface, which would make it a much less lucrative location to mine in, which I don't believe Mojang would want to be the case.

I can confirm ores cannot replace Sulfur and Cinnabar on Java. I'd think they'd have been added to the block tags already. There's no way you just can't find ores to mine in Sulfur Caves, right..?

Unless a new base variant for ores is coming? ("Sulfur Iron Ore", etc)

According to #Minecraft Story Mode, there is canonically Sulfur ("Sulphur") in the Nether.

Probably a reference to Gunpowder, but it hadn't been known as "Sulphur" for years at this point. Still interesting to consider with Sulfur now being properly added.

Looks like #Minecraft Bedrock is getting support for adding new dimensions soon.

This does not confirm anything, but would be a necessary step if a new dimension was being planned.
