I make videos for my company; 25% of our viewers use captions. Now I use my editing software's transcription tool (which is correct ~95% of the time) then check the captions during my final view to correct errors. It take 1% more effort for me but is a 100% better experience for viewers.

Years ago I was lucky enough to be in Calgary and found a local photographer that did guided photo trips to Banff. He said "I'd prefer not to go to Lake Louise so you can take the same photo standing in the same spot as everyone else, let's get YOUR photos." Had a great time!
