So I'm not gonna be all eloquent and soapboxy here since I don't really see a need to, but yeah, I think I’m done with Bluesky, if not GREATLY shrinking my presence on it. I’m not gonna delete my account (or even deactivate it for that matter, barring the worst) but don’t expect much coming from here going forward. The reasons for this are twofold. Firstly, there’s all the bullshit the moderation team is up to. Now, I left Twitter before Elon took over, so I don’t have any first-hand comparisons to make, but a moderation team that seems almost gleeful in shunning the audience it’s garnered through censorship-heavy TOS and allowing problematic folks in when people are very vocally against letting bigots and other hate speech on the platform is… yeah, a bad sign. The second reason is… I think I’m just kinda done with post-based social media in general. I’ve tried a few times on different platforms, but either they just didn’t really “click” with me (Tumblr) or got so unstable that I wasn’t really having fun anymore (Twitter, Reddit, and now Bluesky). Moreover, I need to realize that the constant doomscrolling and feelings of helplessness and uncertainty that social media brings just isn’t worth any reward for me. I’m very grateful for all my followers (seriously how tf did I get 800+), but I gotta make mental health more of a priority in my life, and I think dropping most social media is gonna be a BIG step in that. I’ve tried to compromise, I’ve tried to tailor the experience, but at this point I think the best solution is to go full cold turkey. Sucks, but what can ya do. The good news is I’m not falling off the face of the Internet entirely. I’ll still be on Discord and Unvale, which I think is where a good chunk of my followerbase comes from anyway. I’m also gonna try and revive my Newgrounds account for art stuff, so if you’re following me for that, mosey on over there. (continued in next pic)

(I also might try Reddit again? I know I just said I would go cold turkey from social media, but my Reddit experience wasn’t near as miserable as the worst of Twitter/Bluesky, so maybe I can give that another whirl in the relatively-distant future. I dunno. We’ll see. if it happens i’ll gladly take the inevitable wholesome 100 chungus jokes on the chin) So yeah, this is where it ends. Again, I’m honored to have had a platform here, and I appreciate all the support I’ve gotten, but the cons are starting to outweigh the pros. Bluesky, it was fun while it lasted.
