Agreed. Inspiring stories of difficult journeys.

Always inspiring to see people take their oath of citizenship. Each story is a reminder of what Canada stands for - opportunity, community, and hope!
Great to attend Ani Jam V03 last night and see firsthand how Alberta’s animation community is growing!
Events like this strengthen our creative economy, support local talent, and showcase the innovation happening right here at home! #abarts

Election rigging alive and well under the UCP. Check it out 👇🏽
Thoroughly enjoyed connecting with Provincial Historical Society’s of Alberta yesterday — always inspiring to engage with groups preserving our province’s history.

For 120 years, Alberta’s heritage organizations have protected our history. This government cut their funding with no warning.
This UCP government wasted a boom, when we were in a boom, and now the heritage societies are paying the price.
Our history matters and it deserves to be protected. #ableg
People with disabilities have been calling for accessibility legislation for decades. Bill 206 is their work, their advocacy, and their vision for a more inclusive Alberta.
On March 23rd, MLAs have the chance to say yes to a province where everyone belongs.

This budget wipes out funding for some of Alberta’s historical societies - the groups that preserve our stories and our heritage.
I can’t read my tablings in the legislature, so I’m sharing a few quotes from the letters I’ve received. Albertans are speaking up, and they’re right to be concerned.
Happy Social Work Month to all the incredible social workers out there!
Your compassion, strength, and commitment make our communities better every single day.

A fantastic week of coverage by Eric Volmers in the Calgary Herald highlighting our city’s arts scene and the essential role the arts play in building a thriving, creative community.

Three Heritage organizations. Thirty letters entered into the record from concerned Albertans and my office has many more coming in. One message: restore the modest grants that keep Alberta’s history, archaeology, and genealogy accessible. If we lose our history we lose our culture.
The UCP government wasted a boom during the boom — and now Alberta’s music sector is paying the price. With venue closures rising and no music commissioner in place, we need real leadership, not more delays. #abarts #ableg
The UCP government reduced $35M from Alberta’s film tax credit, and now we’ve slipped to 5th place as productions head to other provinces. We need competitive incentives to keep jobs and projects here. #abrts #ableg
🎵 Alberta’s music sector has waited a year for movement on the Music Action Plan. We’re calling for an independent Music Commission, based in Calgary, with real sector input and a focus on rebuilding the venue ladder. Alberta music deserves action. joececinewsletter.beehiiv.com/p/it-s-time-...
Huge appreciation for the Notley government, whose leadership helped build Alberta’s vibrant craft beer scene!
Have a question about arts and culture you want me to raise with the Minister?

Distractions. Deficits. Wrong direction.
After six years of the UCP, life is not getting better for Albertans. It’s time to focus on real priorities: health care, education, and affordability.
This is what many, many Albertans are thinking - Premier Smith and the UCP waste money and blame everyone else.
Yesterday I stopped by the Engagement Session for the Green Line at the Memorial Park Library. If you couldn’t make it, you can still share your feedback online!
Thank you, friends, for supporting Calgary-Buffalo with your donations. Your willingness to step up at a time when separatist voices-both inside and outside government are working to make life harder for everyone. All, is appreciated!
Great weekend out in the community!
Stopped by the Inglewood Winter Carnival and joined the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre for their Lunar New Year reception. Grateful to connect with neighbours and celebrate what makes Calgary special!
Huge thanks to all the amazing teachers at this year’s convention. Grateful for the chance to say thank you in person and celebrate the work you do every day!

Sending big support to all our Canadian athletes competing at the Olympics. We’re behind you every step of the way!
GO TEAM CANADA!
Last night I was at Festival Hall for Block Heater and had an incredible time! Lindi Ortega and MOONRIIVR delivered fantastic performances. I also took a walk through the Plus 15 Gallery at the Werkland Centre, a great reminder of how much creativity is thriving in our city.
Great visit to the Alberta Arts Council yesterday!
Always amazing to see the talent and creativity coming out of our local arts community.

I attended the celebration honouring Charles Daniels at the Grand. It was a powerful tribute, blending poetry, music, theatre and dance to recognize his courage in standing up to discrimination in 1914. Daniels legacy continues to inspire the fight for justice and equality today.
Block Heater is back, and Calgary’s winter just got a whole lot warmer!
