I'm now fluent and one reason is a very smart colleague who told me to really commit to speaking French. Go for it, go for the accent, go for the slang, try stuff, ask questions and try again. How would a French person pronounce that English word? Pronounce it like that.

1st job in France had 🇫🇷 colleague very sniffy about my French. Corrected everything I said until I gave up & spoke 🇬🇧 to him (not against learning but impossible to get a sentence out).

He signed every email "I dully hope this answers your request" and every single time I had a little snigger

Honestly it's the best age to fly with them. They're portable, not too heavy and relatively easy to get to sleep with some milk.
