I think this is a little simplistic. I think everyone very much believes the Republican Party is shaped by its voters. I think the the theory about the Democrats is still "The Party Decides." I think the Democrats aren't benefited from ostentatious displays of the party deciding, Mamdani/Cuomo.

One of the principle differences between Republicans and Democrats is that Republicans live in fear of their voters, and Democrats have contempt for theirs.

To the Democratic Party itself it is a club meant to cater to its members. Hence why Rahm Emanuel is hanging around like a gargoyle, despite there being no upsides to his presence in the Party.

If anyone acknowledged failure, they would lose their jobs, and thus defeat the point of the party.

There were warning signs all over that the electorate was turning deeply negative on Israel, and the Democrats ignored them. Are still ignoring them.

And it is really fucking weird that their chosen stance is to blame the people who didn't vote for Harris, as oppose to acknowledge the mistake.
