Ahmed was a well-read, thoughtful man. He had an hilariously dry sense of humor. He’d start a story; most of the family didn’t get it or didn’t care.
Often, it was hard to tell if he was relating an interesting historic blurb, or if it was a slow build-up to a really funny (though subtle) joke.
