Unironically yes. They’re different in degrees and kind but they’re both terrible.

Yglesias claim is not for Dems to move to the right but specifically to stop pushing unpopular fringe ideas.

Lax immigration enforcement, push for DEI and gender neutral language are all example of Dems NOT listening to Yglesias.

Stancil is yelling at Yglesias about not changing his mind while Stancil also hasn’t changed his mind.

What was in the election results that validated your approach and invalidated Matt’s?

“No matter what happens Will Stancil continues to push the same narrative about the media environment”

What about his theory of lecturing people on inflation?

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

And what positions has Will Stancil reflected on and changed exactly? He lectured about inflation for 18 months, lost his own election and still pushes the exact same arguments.

I state a position, you ask for evidence; I post that evidence and you look at a different section of that link to “get back to me” when I’ve made my position on trans people very clear.

That’s bad faith.

You keep misinterpreting my positions in bad faith. I’ve made my points very clear and provided ample evidence.

No. Trans people have their preferred pronouns and I’ll use those. But we don’t need to get to ridiculous levels of contortion and change common everyday language.

Most trans people just want to live their lives. They don’t wince at a “ladies and gentlemen” from an emcee.

I can understand why you’d personally have a negative view of him from your experience but I don’t think that’s a good way of judging people in perpetuity

The language we use to talk about pregnancy and abortion is changing. But not everyone welcomes the shift | CNN Mainstream organizations are increasingly opting for phrases like “pregnant people” or “people who get abortions” in an effort to be inclusive of transgender and nonbinary people. But these changes ha...

Yes absolutely. That is one example. There are many.

That’s generally a problem with punditry. Will Stancil spent 18 months preaching about inflation with 0 change in sentiment. Himself lost an election. But now comes here with the exact same ideas and no reflection.

Your contention is that extremism has to be constant?

You don’t acknowledge there was a push to change language like that by liberal and leftist groups?

A good example of the shift is AOC used to have pronouns in her bio and then removed them.

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

No it’s the “pregnant people” and cis people putting pronouns in every bio and introduction. Neo pronouns.

Thinking that any exclusion of trans athletes from any sport at any level is transphobia.

How old is that article now? One callous, poorly researched article is an original sin he can’t move past?

Very narrow minded to think only one party has been radicalized by extremism

I’m committed to posting on BlueSky because I do think it’s important for progressive intellectuals to hear from someone who is outside the left-most 90% of the population.

Something I see over and over again is a desire to unlock some semiotic key that will “disqualify” Republicans.

Man this is a sad day!!

For the People who don't know about India, this was slightly less significant like Obama becoming president but an important barrier being shattered nonetheless.

A common joke among Sikhs in the US, we're basically the black ppl of India.

Congress has the power to block Trump from taking office, but lawmakers must act now Democrats need to take a stand against Electoral College votes for a person disqualified by the Constitution.

A completely undemocratic and vile proposal. To take the votes of millions of Americans away just out of spite.

The time to do this was in 2021 or 22 or maybe even 2024 months before the election. To do it now is unconscionable.
