"I refuse to use generative AI" is not censorship. It's not fascism. It's not restricting you in ANY WAY. It's not banning you from using it.

If your tool is so shitty that unless I also use it, you're being negatively impacted, your tool is religion.

You know when you consider the alternative is fleeing to Hungary and getting paid to fluff an authoritarian dictator, reacting to your divorce by hitting on drunk secretaries at the bar at Applebees doesn’t seem so bad any more does it

Putting strict limits on the definition of treason and significant requirements for its proof was one of the smartest things the Founders did.

Unsure when this was announced, but I'm in Jonathan Strahan's THE BOOK OF THE DEAD alongside some wonderful writers, with 'Passengers'; high school students on a trip encounter unexpected violence on a night train through 90s Bengal, becoming entangled in the event horizon of death's country.

I have ADHD so I have grappled with memory issues my whole life... But nothing like what covid did to me.

I've been bouncing back physically in so many ways over the past few years, but it only makes my mental situation more stark.

Starting stimulants got me 25-50% back but my brain got cooked.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.

Not that I'd ever defend Noem, Bondi, or Gabbard, but it is striking that only the women in the administration are under fire and it's not because Hegseth, RFK, Bessent, Burgum, Lutnick, etc are paragons of anything except stupid malice.

‘Everyone is Replaceable’: Death Rattles Oregon Amazon Facility A worker died at Amazon’s Troutdale warehouse last week. Employees were told to look away.

A worker died at an Amazon warehouse in Oregon last week.

For more than an hour, workers were instructed to continue working as the man lay dead.

One worker wanted to help, but a manager told them to “Just turn around and not look. Let’s get back to work," according to @thewesternedge.bsky.social.

Hi, I'm one of the artists who left twitter because it steals our work with no opt-out. I'm also a book author plaintiff in a case against an ai company. Nobody likes ai except tech ppl in tech central. The majority of Americans do not like ai. The majority of Bluesky users do not like ai.

That same day, Petitioner filed a motion
for the return of his identification documents noting that, without his documents, he had difficulty
traveling back from Bakersfield to his home in Utah upon his release and he is likely to be
rearrested by law enforcement or the Department of Homeland Security if traveling. (ECF No.
11.) The Court granted Petitioner’s motion, ordered Respondents to return Petitioner’s
documents and possessions, including his passport and driver’s license, and directed Respondents
to file a status update with the Court by the end of the day on April 10, 2026. (ECF No. 13.)
Respondents again did not timely file a status update or seek an extension of time to do so.

And then the petitioner was like "hey can you also make them give me my passport so I don't get arrested again."

The judge was like, "yeah, that's reasonable, they have until April 10."

The parties are familiar with the facts of this case and only those relevant to the issue currently before the Court are reiterated here. On March 16, 2026, Petitioner filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus challenging the lawfulness of his detention. (ECF No. 1.) On April 3, 2026, the Court granted the petition, ordered Petitioner's immediate release, and directed Respondents to file a notice certifying compliance by April 6, 2026. (ECF No. 8.) Respondents
did not file a notice of compliance or seek an extension of time to do so.

The issue is literally that, by the way. That the court ordered the petitioner released by April 6th and they didn't do it.

Nashville journalist arrested by ICE granted bond, remains detained while feds considers appeal • Tennessee Lookout Estefany Rodríguez, the Nashville reporter arrested by ICE, was granted a $10,000 bond Monday but remains detained in Louisiana.

"After being held in isolation for about five days. Rodríguez was forced to strip naked in a shower while an officer "poured some kind of chemical liquid on her head, which seemed to be something used to clean floors and burned her eyes,” the filing read."

For anyone needing a great comfort read in these trying times, I recommend Alif the unseen by @gwillow.me . An excellent book about resistance to a bad regime. And the Imam in this book is one of my favorite characters in fiction. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.
