Tsubaya Knives Our shop has been specializing in cooking knives since it was founded in Kappabashi, Asakusa, Tokyo in 1956.

Being in Tokyo regularly (other half is Japanese) my go-to place is Tsubaya: it’s a little shop on the corner of Kappabashi-dori, open for 70-or-so years… Recently they started shipping internationally

Open source isn't a tip jar – it's time to charge for access A handful thrive, most scrape by as companies make billions off their code Opinion  Time and again, I see people begging for companies with deep pockets to fund open source projects. I mean, after all, they've made billions from this code. You'd think they could support the code's creators and maintainers. It would be only fair, right?…

Every time I am asked to look at some "interesting" bug on our front-end code, I am always amazed by how much *crap* is running on normal people's browsers...

Just found out that someone/something is polyfilling "crypto.randomUUID()" with some crap that skews our A/B testing cohorts by a smidge...

This could be quite huge: if the MDM component is good enough, it could spell disaster for companies like Kandji or JAMF…

For sure I’m going to be checking it out quite thoroughly next month!

I’m using it at home…

Basic, but does the job right! My suggestion, just add a Raspberry with Wireguard/Tailscale if you want remote access because I got locked out of Teleport once when I was in Japan and getting back in from away was a bit of a nightmare (it involved having a neighbor over)

Not that I support the FCC ban or anything… But have you heard of Ubiquiti? Patriot friendly and to be honest probably the best out there! Even their Amplifi (home) line is not bad…

Not that I support the FCC ban or anything… But at least now in the USA you don’t get to deal with AVM’s FritzBoxes… That’s a great plus!!!

Not that I support the FCC ban or anything… But there’s a lot of 💩 out there!

Here’s a fun little video that you can follow along if you know curl and bash, really entertaining!

The war on Iran cost the US $12.7bn by day six. Here’s how it’s been spent – in charts Now, the total is likely to have exceeded $18bn and counting. Where are America’s war dollars going, in a war that was never declared in the first place?

@theguardian.com just published a breakdown of the cost so far, and the last slide is a “what if the money was used for something else”… And that’s just 12.7bn, not 200bn…

The HTTP QUERY method has been in the works for over five years, and “just” published yet another draft…

I’ve been eagerly awaiting for it since the first draft because I’m tired of stringifying JSON in a `query` search parameter on GETs…
