Flash was everywhere. Now it's gone. Sound familiar?
Flash is just part of the story of VANISHING CULTURE, a new book exploring the fight to preserve our fragile digital history. ๐

If the same issue comes up in Tech Support more than a handful of times, you have a design, not a support, issue. Often, devs don't fix the core problem, so the support people come up with a book of workarounds. That book is a design document. It's your job as a dev to make that book unnecessary.
Well deserved ๐
A hedgehog under a fence

Lush green fields in the foreground, with trees along the edges. In the distance, there is a river, and behind it woodland and large hills.
Just arrived in Scotland. Not a bad view from our window at all.
Two hedgehogs nuzzled up on a lawn.
Spotted (after hearing some grunting...) two hedgehogs in the garden.
It's my 14 year wedding anniversary today. I'm a lucky guy, and we've had a nice day. Looking forward to many more!

#taskmaster starts Thursday April 9th. See you there!
It's been years since I've watched it, but I can't disagree with anybody who has given it praise so far. A brilliant cast, and it's just a damn good, compelling show.
I need to re-wach it in the near future....
A supermarket basil plant. It has been pruned to cultivate growth and has a bushy, shiny look.
You can buy a basil plant from most supermarkets, take a couple of leaves off it to put in your pasta sauce or whatever, and repeat the next week or two - or, you can prune it, feed it and in maybe two weeks have a plant you can repot, continue to grow and even take cuttings from to make more.
Good morning lovelies, enjoy a smile from this Pomeranian with a perfectly centered nose that makes it look like a one eyed alien.๐
Worth every penny at full price, if not more. Its easily one of the best books on not only the subject matter, but API design and OO coding too.
Them: "I wouldn't worry about it."
Me: "well, I wouldn't either, given the choice, but here we are"

Empty should be empty!
The shock and surprise when I saw the memory cost of a Stream created from an empty List in #Java was audible.

Did it make noises when they ran it, by any chance?
For folks who haven't looked at #EclipseCollections because they don't use the Eclipse IDE. Eclipse Collections (EC) and the Eclipse IDE are both independent projects at the Eclipse Foundation. ๐ก
Note: I created EC and have coded with IntelliJ for 24 years. ๐

Want to level up your API design and #Java coding skills?
The book "Eclipse Collections Categorically: Level up your programming game" can help.
GenAI tools can help you code faster.
ECC shows how to design/code better, for the machine and future readers. Mechanical and Symmetric Sympathy.๐ก
I had no idea, to my shame, how good a guitarist John Williams is. Watching some old Keith Floyd, an episode where John is a guest, and he just casually plays Recuerdos de la Alhambra like it's an Oasis track.
A perennial bug of mine. Arithmetician != mathematician.
It's the thought that counts
There's drumming, and then there's drumming.
Oo, this looks promising!
This machine pretty much got me to where I am now, in a way, so it will be my mission to make it boot to an OS again.
I tried for an hour or so to get the installer working - no dice. It still has a Grub bootloader despite running fdisk /mbr. HDD had quite a few bad sectors, but otherwise OK (all 3gb of it). I think I might need a Linix distro to fully DD it back to properly empty and try again.
The BIOS screen is showing on the laptop
It still powers on, too, and there's even a Win 98 se disc in the drive...
