For whatever it's worth, I still remember, lol. Your point stands true.
Dean 😍🙌
Nailed it. Now do this at a con.
Sounds about right :)
Offsetting them worked. Which magazine is the Southern Cross poster from?
Love the L-Gaim / Southern Cross pairing.
Sure. However, it's going to be a real can of worms if they're unfamiliar with the act of digitizing the material. There's simply doing it, and then there's doing it *well*. Which is more important here?
Which requires feeling 😊
I enjoy being human, thanks.
Sealed, extra copy arrived a few days ago. $45 shipped (as pictured) within the US for anyone interested. Please DM if you'd like to scoop it up.
"understands".
New upload! The opening animation for the US version of the 1960s 8th Man anime, scanned from a 16mm print in 4K by us, courtesy of @reQThoney! This was uniquely made for the US version by Hal Seeger Productions when it was syndicated on American TV! youtu.be/xs0kk3VOjVw
It's Kineko, it's always huge.
I've taken each disc from this set for a few laps already (since yesterday). It's such an incredible love letter to not only the game itself, but the spirit of the Ridge Racer series as a whole. Modern production and mastering allow us to hear certain samples & elements clearer than ever.
Rough app based JP > EN translation works well enough, but better to post the original text.
[SRNS2006] RAVE RACER -30th Anniv. Sounds- (2026) / Booklet Scans / Messages from Sampling Masters MEGA / AYA, sanodg, J99.
Of course!
Objectively better sources for the SC footage (the easy part), and the entire film's audio (the not so easy part).
Only due to studio mandate. I'd have probably been okay at Texas showing. Surreal for some, but overall, if they were mature enough to handle the advanced themes of the show, any confusion should've given way to the central *hotness* of the MODAT-5.
A Blu-ray case insert, and some hi-res scans of various Southern Cross & Megazone related artwork, pulled from a few choice books and posters, time permitting.
Very nuanced work, that is. A lot of time in Aegisub, realizing just how ridiculously *wordy* the script is in many spots. Deciding on preferences like MODAT vs. M.O.D.A.T., capitalization of military rank/titles, etc. I'll get the English version to the finish line. After that?
With the audio sorted and sounding great, the next thing I wanted to add is soft English language subtitles (more appropriately dubtitles), hopefully for further translation into other languages. Recreating a soft version of the Dutch hardsubs from the LD, for example.
Doing this (again) hinged on getting ahold of a 100% clean capture of the English audio from the LD, which just so happened to become a reality earlier this year. That specific element really takes this to the next level of appearing to be a commercial release.
Took everything I learned from attempting this back in 2022, threw a lot of things in the trash, and started more or less from scratch. Enjoying the results thus far...
1986 was a big year for pop culture, with many things from music, movies, to gaming celebrating their respective 40 year anniversaries here in 2026. With the serendipitous eBay listing of a LaserDisc copy a few months back, I figured what the hell, let's add Robotech: The Movie to that list.
Back on my shit again. Logging this via social media, to help keep me on track toward meeting the (self imposed) full release deadline of July 25th.
