Reading the Alex Karp diatribe I cannot help but wonder: why are billionaires always complaining about "The Elite"? He has unimaginable wealth and power far beyond the imagination of an adjunct professor or journalist making $75k/yr. He is The Elite. There is no one more 'elite'.
Every morning at 6AM the dudes next door try to get their pickup started for about 20 minutes straight and I just want to go over and say "look, just take it to a shop, I'll pay." And then they finally get it going and I fall back asleep and forget it ever happened. Until the next morning.
Regret to inform everyone that Peter Magyar beat the world’s smartest illiberal populist in large measure by working incredibly hard for 2 straight years, meaning the rest of us are just going to have to get off our asses and do shit rather than just complaining.
A lot of Americans think that posting opposition on social media means a lack of culpability. That's not how it works. We are at war, we pay for it, we allow it, we're complicit.
I can’t believe that we’re on the brink of nuking Iran because a smart Black man in a tan suit once made fun of a reality tv host.

I am now 6 months into an absolute struggle to get a small honorarium for a talk that I gave at a UK University. At this point it's just the principle that if I'm going to wake up and be on-camera at 2AM, I should get paid for it.
In a healthy democracy the government would have collapsed by now and instead we've got at best just over 7 months to know if there will be electoral consequences and until january for them to start to take effect

Me vs Genoise batter, Round 5. Again, I am vanquished. It's just hard as hell to get right.
I feel pretty good paying my city and state taxes. I feel a hell of a lot less good paying my federal taxes. I do know that some of it filters down to institutions and work that I truly value but a hell of a lot of it goes to murder and destruction.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I was wondering about the Sloth
Anyone know the specific milepost at which the slide is located?

I seem to have fallen asleep for a few hours, what horrible thing has [the US/President/Americans/Humanity] done now?
