Natasha's Beaujolais book is authoritative & insightful.
I have been dithering as to whether I need the updated Côte d'Or. Duly persuaded & ordered today.

One assumes you sre heading to Poole/Bournemouth, as we don't do South Coast preppy here in West Dorset. 😉 🙂
Now that's a great theme for a radio show. Hint, hint.
Proof that JF wasn't wholly grumpy. Some of the wittiest lyrics ever.
Despite their early on-stage shenanigans, a great band.
Saw them live a few years ago & they were impeccably behaved.
And they're still making decent new music, as demonstrated by their recent-ish LP.
A Great movie.

Never heard this (excellent) version before. I know it by Spiritualized.
Was unaware of Chip Taylor - clearly a man of considerable talent.
'Home' remains my favourite B-side.
The only other that readily springs to mind: Get Ready to Ride the Lion to Zion from Two Sevens Clash by Culture.
In view of the song title, it may not surprise many.
Almost 50 years later, the song still thrills.
Their finest moment. If (White Man) In Hammersmith Palais is excluded.
The three remaining Glossy Ibis on Wareham Common just before a Great White Egret joined them.

Own the first 5. As should everyone!
The Clash, The Clash remains the 2nd best LP, of all time.
What a start to the show. Will there be a better record? (I reckon I know the answer already, having glanced at a much later post though not the actual song). Saying that as I type, song 2 is playing - the foundation to thousands of other songs.
The live version on Take No Prisoners is even better.
The Fall's version knocks the original into a cocked hat.
*Other opinions - The Stranglers' best: 5 Minutes.
Re #BrewDog I feel horribly, not triumphantly, vindicated, for myself & @camraofficial.bsky.social. Early as 2009 I described them as aggressive, arrogant, outrageous but recognised their impact. In 2016 they were still credible enough for me to have to justify my criticism on Radio 4 Food Programme
+1
I tasted their recent releases at Mythos Mosel, last year. The winery has returned to top form.
Remains one of the five greatest LPs.

Both much missed. Hitchhiked the length of the country to first see them at Deeply Vale, 1979 (along with The Fall & Misty in Roots amongst others).

Best photo of a punk rock star ever.
Malcolm Owen. At his mammy's house, I imagine, judging by the mug of tea and the gas fire.

Another is Sweet Home Alabama.
