Haha! I used to teach as well and had so many!

People aren't going to trust someone where every single post is soliciting services. If you're legit make yourself look like a real person and not a bot account. It's also super easy and free to create a website these days.

Writers build relationships with critique partners & readers who will not "just be kind" because they are often also writers who understand the process. I read for plenty of people who I know & it would be a disservice to them if I lied about something not working just because they're my friend.

People don’t tend to trust people they don’t know with their manuscripts. Most people will never send a stranger their manuscript (outside of a vetted editor with a contract). Especially because of the prevalence of scammers running manuscripts through AI for “feedback.” You have to build trust.
