One way to set up spelling centers. I wish someone had explained this to me ten years ago!

Working on my #font today.

Got the basic Kennington set and several ligatures.

Trying to publish and test it. Seems like there are a lot of undefined aspects. [sigh]

Unrelated (sorry) but so cool. I recently saw a couple of displays devices that show off pixel animations on a large scale. Large meaning 10 to 20cm.

One was a picture frame on a shelf. The other was a hip bag (fanny pack). Imagine your pixel art breathing or flying on a purse. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

That's really something nice! As long as the animation's flow fits the flow of the game, you've done it!

I would use the data to decide which words need to be taught to the whole class vs small group/ differentiated homework.

Any suggestions would be appreciated ๐Ÿ™

Hi Alice,
Where can I find your Google Sheet stuff? I want to aggregate sight-word assessment data for my class.

In a perfect world, an app/ bot would "read" each sheet and on another sheet put a number in a cell next to each word showing how many know that word on sight.

100 words. Whole class.

I nice piece of advice I heard today - require oral answers. Grade (evaluate, analyze) student's knowledge through their spoken responses. They can read their writing aloud and then answers questions about their thinking process.

Apps like @padlet.com support this, too.

Some friends are worth everything. Some, not so much. How can you tell which is which?

5 months ago 1 0 0 0

We all need time alone and time with others. But finding the balance of alone-ness and together-ness isn't easy. When I need "you" you are busy. When you need me, I'm busy. "Your" idea of fun and mine are different. Our together time was lousy. Shake it off. Try again. Your friendship is worth it.

In school: I can love a child with my whole heart, but also feel very uncomfortable with their behavior choices.

If happiness is sand in an hourglass, I need to learn to catch more of it.

In school: celebrating every small accomplishment for others ๐Ÿ‘. Being celebrated by others? Hmmm, can't remember the last time that happened. Happiness is a culture. โœ”๏ธ

Some people have a deeper sadness due to loss or trauma. We cannot understand the depth of their feelings.

Sadness must be expressed for it to pass. It can return with a certain smell or sound.

Even though we feel sad, we wear a happy face. It isn't healthy so why do we do it?

Wait. How do they tell if you use #ai or not?

When we only look at behavior, we stop seeing the child and only look with an intent to judge whether we need to reward or punish. When we look behind the behavior, we see that little struggling human, our little human who needs our help -- with something. Rebecca Eanes. Watercolor by Celeste Keller. A portrait-style, watercolor painting of a young child with brown eyes and brown wavy hair. They could be a boy or a girl. Their wistful gaze looks to the left while their body is facing partly to the right. They're wearing an orange zipper top with a blue shirt underneath.

Just a reminder in case you forgot (and I'm reminding myself too).

And then one day you're trying to teach (anything) and the one who struggles to join in brings everything to a halt... every 10 minutes.

I really wish I knew what to do when everything is

Start a load of laundry. Go for a walk. Hang it out to dry. Pop in a second load. Wash dishes. Hang the clothes out to dry. Wash another load. Watch one episode of the Mandolorian. Hang up the clothes to dry.

My sister went to a doc and specifically asked to be diagnosed.

The doc didn't do it. Nor did they suggest one who could.

What's that all about?
